There's a poll on whether the phrase, "In God We Trust", should be left on our nation's currency. Please go to this link and vote before MSNBC takes it off their website. It's important to let our government officials know how we feel about this issue. Don't let the atheists and the ACLU win this one!

EDITED to fix link and other info.

I voted the other day. Its now:

Yes. It's a violation of the principle of separation of church and state.
19%

No. The motto has historical and patriotic significance and does nothing to establish a state religion.
81%

I vote "no."

First of all, it is, for most Americans, and for the government printing the money, a lie.

Because it is neither true nor sincere, it is also taking God's name in vain.

Furthermore, because most people will understand "God" to mean something other than the God of the Bible, it is idolatry.

That's three broken commandments, right there. Seems like a bad thing. Can anybody make a case for it, using scripture?

I don't care whether this phrase is on our money or not. Canadian money (and British) has "Elizabeth DG" for Elizabeth Dei Gratia, Elizabeth by the Grace of God. Do Canadians really believe that some divine being intervened in human affairs to permit the Windsors to rule Canada? No, and I don't think most Americans trust god, either. I know that it's not PC (right PC as opposed to left PC; both kinds exist) to say so, but most Americans state that they believe in God but do absolutely nothing to prove that they do.

To me, cash is cash. As long as I can spend it, you can write Buddha, Muhammed, Moses, Jehovah, Zeus, Venus, or Baal on it.
