I don't think she tried to kill the baby. They thought it was already dead, and many times, if the baby is big enough, the woman still has to give birth....or get the baby extracted. Even if the baby is dead, it still can be called an abortion (and miscarriages as well). I think people are trying to move away from abortion in cases of death of the baby though.

I don't think she tried or wanted to kill her baby either. She had internal bleeding and the baby showed no signs of life.

Everyone please read the actual news piece. She was not there to have a voluntary abortion. During one of her routine visits the doctor found she had internal bleeding and that they baby (five months) had died in the womb.

I was not turning this into an abortion story but the original article called it an abortion. A miscarriage is called a spontaneous abortion if it is not induced and before the 20th week. since this is after the 20th week it would have been a late fetal death. Rather than make this political, let's rejoice in the baby's life.

I read it; I said what I said because when Rockwell said "aborted and left for dead," it might sound like she was trying to abort her baby (as in killing it).

There's nothing political about it (to me); I'm trying to clarify that "abortion" does not always mean killing of something. I know someone will probably come in here, not read the article and think she tried to kill an otherwise healthy fetus that happened to live. :)
