A couple of months ago when discussing the person of Jesus - who do you say Jesus is - I presented a long list of the different 'jesus's' some may be talking about when they use that name.

They take the word and stuff it with a lie, with a different meaning.

Having said all of that today I want to discuss the individual by the name of: José Luis de Jesús Miranda

Dateline, 20/20, NBC, Fox News, Telemundo, Univision, Primetime - and a bunch of other news outlets around the world have done spots on this man and his organization.

He claims to be Jesus incarnate, the return of Christ on this earth. His followers number in the millions (if we believe his organizations reports) and he does have hundreds of churches spanning all over Latin America and several in the U.S.

Here is a Wikipedia link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jos%C3%A9_Luis_de_Jes%C3%BAs_Miranda

His followers are now getting tattoos on their foreheads, arms, wrists, legs of 666. If not disclosed outright his church services would be mistaken for any other contemporary Pentecostal church service.

Here are two decent video clips that give context to what has been shared:

Me, too! I cannot fathom how people can buy into frauds like him. The total message he delivers is anathema to the gospel, yet people follow him as if they are lost dogs. Regrettably, they are lost...

It really is amazing that anyone would fall for this guy. The rate of church planting and growth for this cult in Latin American countries is beyond description.

They have their own TV broadcasts, radio stations, Internet RSS Feeds, blogs, musicians, CD's, recording studios, music video's, MySpace pages, etc..

They refer to their children as "La Super Raza" - translated into English: The Super (Master) Race

Falling for this fraud is no different than those that fall for the likes of Hinn, Jakes, Dollar, Meyer, Copeland, Osteen, Warren, etc.

False Jesus, False Gospel, False Theology takes many different forms, but anyone that teaches a Jesus other than the Jesus of the Bible is the same according to Scripture.

That would be hysterical if it wasn't soooo sad.

Was doing some more research on this man and his growing cult. For those that do not yet know who he is.. be forewarned he is making MAJOR inroads all over Latin America and Hispanic areas of the U.S.

His followers are still receiving tattoos on their foreheads or arms with the number '666'. From as young as seven years old and up.

They recently held their national conference outside of Houston, TX. Their numbers keep growing and growing.

That interesting, I live right outside of Houston and never even heard of the event.

I have heard of this guy before though. From my understanding he has a rather large following in florida and it is suppose to be growing in texas here, but I haven't met any of them as far as I know.

It scares me that he would call himself Jesus, as in the one presented in scripture, and people think this is so. Are they that blind?

As was Israel, so will this generation.....unfortunately

In this modern age, mass moves emotions unto deceptions....people dont test the spirits nowadays.
Long as the mass accepts and follows, it must be ok.....

De Jesus’s followers believe they are God’s true chosen people and call their children the “super race.”

De Jesus’s gospel flows from an experience he had in December 1976. After a hardscrabble youth in Puerto Rico, where he often stole to feed his heroin habit, he moved to Lawrence, Massachusetts, and ran a Bible-based treatment center for drug-addicted street toughs. But soon he lost faith in conventional churches. “I was getting tired of all the legalism and hypocrisy,” he explains. “I kept thinking, Christianity should be something better.”

Then one frosty December night, he says he awoke to find himself flanked by two brawny men with stern expressions who told him: “The King of Kings is coming to anoint you.” Before he knew it, he was standing in a luminous marble corridor where trumpets blared and a spectral figure crept toward him. Then the apparition merged with him, and he began to hear a man’s voice in his head.

In the years that followed, the voice continued to offer new revelations. Then in 1986 it said, “Move to Miami. There you’ll have a bridge to all nations.”

Miraculous visions, anointings, self-glorification, new revelations, visits to heaven, super special children...

Sound familiar, anyone? Miranda simply takes it a step further than the Dominionists. And what is up with apparitions' fixation on Florida lately.

quote:

In the years that followed, the church increasingly revolved around De Jesus. Then in 1998 he claimed to be the reincarnation of the Apostle Paul. The following year he proclaimed himself “El Otro” — a demigod who would lay the foundation for the Lord’s return. Finally in 2004 he named himself Jesus Christ and the ultimate authority on the gospel.

Wow, that is one serious identity crisis he's got going on there.
