Which artist did you vote for in the 2008 SN Fan Awards Top 10 ballot?

I know that this poll isn't even an hour old but I am surprised that EHSSQ hasn't gotten any votes yet.

I actually surprised myself and voted Gold City instead of Triumphant even though Triumphant has the stronger lineup right now.

Well that's the only category I voted for them, and I voted for Triumphant's guys in at least one other category so rest easy.

I've seen the guy sing on video and he is good - but he's not Jonathan. Triumphant, on the other hand, has not had ONE personnel change in their 6? year tenure.

I voted for Gold City out of the nominees they would be my favorite; my top pick didn't make the top ten; but I totally think Brian Free & Assurance deserved to be in this category too!!

I AGREE! I was very disappointed that they didn't make it. They actually tied for the most nominations of any male quartet.

I was actually surprised to see GC in the favorite Artist category when their song "Preach The Word" didn't even make the Top 10.

No he isn't Jonathan but what I've seen on video and what I've seen in person they just don't compare. In person he is MUCH better than any video I've seen so far. What I really like is he isn't trying to be Jonathan or anyone else - he's himself and you will forget he has only be with them weeks instead of years, he just fits!

Well I hope that's the case! I'll be sure to try to catch them the next time they sing in my area. From what I've seen though, I think he needs more expression and maybe even a hairpiece.

I had a hard time deciding because my 3 favorite groups are all nominated, but I went with Signature Sound for favorite artist, Gold City for male quartet, and the Perrys for mixed group. That way I got to vote for all three.

I'm curious if most people will vote for someone different in the favorite artist category, or if they will vote for the same one they vote for in one of the male quartet/mixed group/trio/soloist categories.

He is very expressive and hair or lack of it, doesn't affect his ability to sing.

I voted for the same group I voted for as favorite quartet - Legacy Five. It wasn't an easy decision though since Gerald Wolfe and Greater Vision are also favorites of mine.

I think that had to be a tough decision for die-hard GV fans. A vote for Gerald is a vote against the group and a vote for the group is a vote against Gerald.

I wonder how Donna handled that one?

I agree that hair doesn't affect ability to sing, but I hope he has a more "jubilant, warm" expression than what I've seen so far. Hair would greatly improve the overall look though - but that's merely an opinion.

I did. I went with Triumphant Qt for artist, Dove Brothers for quartet and the Hoppers for mixed group.

She posted her reasoning a while back--that she views Gerald as enough of a team player that he'd rather the team won anyhow.

Thanks Daniel. I guess I just missed that somewhere along the line.
