http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/8316254?MSNHPHCP>1=39002 MIAMI - Alex Rodriguez's heartbroken wife Cynthia believes her hubby has been "brainwashed" by kabbalah-pushing pop icon Madonna and lured away from his family, an A-Rod confidant said yesterday. In a bombshell interview with The Post, Dodd Romero - Rodriguez's former trainer and godfather to his two daughters who spent last week in Paris with Cynthia Rodriguez - said he and C-Rod believe the Yankee superstar has been gradually drawn away by Madonna's allure. "Alex, God bless him, is lost," A-Rod's ex-pal lamented. "I think he got pulled in by the dark side, if you can say that nicely. He's totally brainwashed." ~~~~ I don't know anything about Kabbalah, but this is a strange (and sad) tale.

If its true, we only have the ex trainer's statements to go on. He may be deceived or intending to deceive. Sometimes the breaking of close ties leads to extreme hatred on one or both sides. You will note "C-Rod" (how cute) said nothing in the article. Also, the Post (whose writer penned this story and under whose auspicies the interview was done) does not have a great rep for accuracy and such. They are looked at as one step ahead of the National Enquirer. And its also what I would call a "populist" paper, appealing to the readers means more than accuracy. And New Yorkers love them an A-Rod hatin' story. I mean maybe its true but I won't accept it as truth based on one article with one ormerly close member of his entorage.

I know what you mean, some news outlets you can't trust. I did see another article that says his wife is filing for divorce on Monday. Although, it says it's based on his cheating...not kabbalah. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3475674

Sadly enough, I'm more inclined to believe that. A-Rod had such a great rep as a nice guy too. Its sad that its being tarnished (rightly or not but adultry is horrible in my book, hopefully he didn't do it but ...). Maybe he should have stayed in Seattle. Or Texas (the Rangers are in the Dallas - Ft. Worth area IIRC).
