Hi all! Earlier this year I went on a trip to Israel, and one of the members of our group took videos. He loaned me the VHS tape, and my dad and I recorded it on a DVD. I am planning to make copies of the DVD for the other members of our group. The only problem is, the footage is nearly four hours long. I'd like to divide it into chapters so that people can find the part they would like to watch without having to fast forward through everything. Does anyone know of an easy way to add chapters? Also, I'd like to be able to make short clips on the computer of certain parts of the video (for example, the baptism part). Is there an easy way to do that? Thanks in advance for your help!

You need to do this on the machine that made the DVD recording. Usually, it can be set to automatically insert chapter marks on preset regular intervals, such as every 5 minutes, or 10 minutes, etc. Or by manually inserting the chapter after the DVD has been made but BEFORE it was "finalized." Regarding computer clips from your DVD, it can be easy but only for someone already set up with equipment and software for it and knows how to do it.

can that be done after it's recorded but before it's finalized? You probably can, but it depends on the model of recorder. I think most do but don't know if they all do. The owner's manual will have that information and instructions on how to do it.
