Many people have written about America being the New Roman empire. Given the facts that we Americans spend more on our "defense" than the rest of the world combined, and we tell other countries how to live their own lives it might be true. The whole Iraqi war it seems is a prime example, we endorsed Saddam Hussein when he was attempting to take over Iraq and lately he violated the expectations and so we invaded. Certainly with all the corruption and waste we have it might be true.
Anyone care to discuss this idea or consider if this is true.
Note:Rome did some good in those areas around the empire so we cant just think of the pagan influences. (the Roman peace and the road systems)

I essentially agree, however, I see the final rendition of the Roman Empire in the united federation of America, Russia and the EU. That will be a terrible beast of a nation and one unlike any seen before in power and scope.

New Roman empire= USA???
No!!
Before the AC = Head of New Roman Empire comes to power the following events will take place asI read in the Bible.
1. Rapture
2. Opening of the seals
a. Natural disaster = end of USA ( including the rapture of American christians)
b. War of Ezekiel 38/39 = End of Moslim states around Israel + end of Russia.
c. Famine
d. Pestilences.
When 1 and 2 a + b happens, the only real power will be left with the EU.
There during these events 10 out of all EU states will make the AC their leader.
See also Daniel the four World states in the statue of Nebuc.
And also Daniel the beast with the 10 horns and the little one becoming the greatest.

Novus Ordo Seclorum..... There is no doubt that America and the EU are great empires with worldwide influences..... This 'new order' is but a shadow of the things to come for the reality is found in Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior. Do not love anything in the world. For Jesus said if anyone comes to me and does not hate themself, even their very life, they cannot be my disciple. For friendship with the world is to live in enmity with God.
These things have already been occurring: famines, wars, plagues, rumors of wars in various places as Jesus said. They are the beginning of birth pains as the old world gives birth to The Millennium Reign of Jesus Christ at Jerusalem. Therefore, the seals were already being opened on the Scroll of Prophecy that Christ prevailed to open. Adonai Domini. AD.

Whoa!
The sixth Seal describes the same Sun/moon/star event which heralds the Day of the Lord as Jesus describes in the Olivet Discourse. That same gathering is what Paul describes in 1Th 4, and in 2Th 2 Paul says the Day of the Lord does not come until the Man of Perdition is exposed. That happens at the midpoint of the one 'seven.'
Will you re-think your pre-Tribulation eschatology if the one 'seven' starts and you're still here?
I hope so. Otherwise the chances are you might panic and look for Jesus in all the wrong places.

The new Roman Empire looks to me to be Europe ... it covers almost the same territory as the old Roman Empire.
