And that is exactly why we need strong leadership in the Church, to train up disciples who will live out their faith, not just say the "right things." (though sadly, very little of what that young lady said was in any way right...)

Matthew 7:26-27 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

What was this "red carpet" event promoting and where? And did anyone else notice that these were not the usual questions asked to fashionistas? The reasons I am asking these questions is because this woman actually answered the questions posed to her, where another would have been whisked away with a sneer and giggle. Sure, she is definitely not a mature Christian, but she looked right into the camera and said that she believed Jesus was her savior. So I am asking you all, what makes a Christian? Their profession that "Jesus is Lord" or a lifestyle of submission to the Word? j

Have worked with youth of this age she was very trueful most of this, even the one that have been in church all their life will give these answers ! When put on the spot even most of the adults here would even give unsupported. She may have set in many youth services and her parents may have done evething they could but unless she has the personal walk with the Lord only then can she or any one give the ansewrs this guy was wanting. He put her on the spot in a very publc place for what his show! All any parent / youth leader/Church can do is teach and let them heard and then thye have to made the desiding steps. That is the way the Lord made free will. Who to judge her she may have Christ in her heart . If she had given all the greatr answers and spoke with Bible quotes she would have never been seen .Now just look at what she has done for the Lord got a lot of us thiking and praying for our youth > Praise God for her!

Not a modern Gospel at all is old as the Church was addressed by Paul. Is simple that the full Gospel is not preached anymore in churches they want to be liberal. It matters not why or where the interview took place at all. If anyone listened to her she said the Bible is just a book written by men. Most of the liberal church does not believe that the Bible is the WORD OF GOD less than 50% of supposed pastors do not claim the Bible to be the Word of God. This is what has been a problem in the church for a long time preachers will take the part of the Bible they like and preach it and leave out the Truth. They look at the story of the woman caught in the act of adultery and say see Jesus forgave her and did not condemn her yet they leave off the last part of it where Jesus told her to "Go and SIN NO MORE". That is why the Roman Catholic Church chose a pope to decide the rules and kept Scripture from the people. Why JWs had to change the wording and say that their leaders know the rules and they can change them. Why the Mormons say their leader can change rules of their church and they dont have to follow their books. Why the Pharisees had their rules and did not follow Scripture. Everybody want to hear Jesus paid the price for our sins but none want to hear 'Take up thy cross and follow me.' Many will even say this means that they are to take up a burden NO taking up ones cross meant go to die. The only reason anyone in that time would take up a cross was they were going to be put to death. As we are told to put ourselves to death to have life in Jesus. People forget that God said My word and the law will will by no means pass away. Oh the preachers want to say we are under grace not the law. But forget we are to repent which means to turn from sin. They want to say they were born again because they had an emotional experience yet they never change their lives. They want to hear about forgiveness and love but not about Judgement and repentance. And you liberals can quote all the verses you wish but if you leave out context and the rest of the Bible why bother. So she said Jesus is her Savior but she denied His teachings and Word. As Jesus said many will come to me on that day and say Lord Lord and He will say depart from me you lawless ones (practicers of iniquities) I never knew you. Yes it is about a relationship but people want to leave out it being a RIGHT relationship. You will find it a lot in all the threads in this forum especially the one about should a child of an elder be believer. Everyone wants to ignore or redefine the Bible to fit them. So they can sin all they want or just this one sin God wont mind He paid for it. It is not by mistake that the most quoted verse of the Bible is Judge not lest ye be judged. Yet that is only said when their sin comes to light. The want to say that God is love but ignore the factor that the word for God means JUDGES if you dont want to believe me look it up in Strong's some time and see if Elohim is not the same word used for gods and judges. They want to quote Paul saying we are not under the law but forget that he told the Corinthian church to kick out the sinner in their midst and deliver him to Satan that he might be saved. Or that Paul thought it a joy to be counted worthy to partake in the Lords sufferings. Just as those who were following Jesus that turned away when He said any man that does not eat my flesh and drink my blood can not be my disciple. To be a disciple is to follow all the teachings of ones master or teacher. The dont want to hear that I am the LORD I change not. No they want to live lives of comfort and warm and fuzzy love not sacrificial love we are called to. One of the reasons people really dont like the Book of James, they dont want to learn that following Christ means giving up worldly things. Nobody wants to be separate from the world as we are called to be. As I have said before many times either you believe the Bible is the Word of God or you dont if you do then you need to follow all of it not just the parts you like. Makes some wonder if there really is a church anymore but been replaced with country clubs that call themselves churches. Jesus said 'I am the Way, Truth and Life' some like the Way part and Life part but want to leave out the TRUTH part. Think many need to read the second and third chapters of Revelation of what Jesus said to the churches, Particularly the last one. For many in these last days think they are rich and in need of nothing yet do not realize they are wretched blind and poor. They want to say that women and gays can be pastors and think its OK cause the Bible was then this is now. God said not one jot or title of the law would pass away. People want God to be who they want Him to be not the God of the Bible Who created this universe and all that is in it and is Just Righteous and Holy no they want the friend not the Lord and Master. Some of you may want to praise her for saying Jesus is her Savior but then if He is not Lord and Savior then perhaps He is not Savior either. Yeah lets just forget the Lord part of it. It does not seem from her comments that she believes in the same Jesus that the Bible teaches about. Yet she thinks she is saved that is sad. She doesn't want the Bible or Truth because she wants her sin. Jesus said you cant serve two masters, He was not limiting it to money. She said she was having premarital sex so she would not want to believe the following verses. 1Co 6:9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 1Co 6:10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 1Co 6:11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. It is rather clearly put that if you are 'saved' then there will be a change. If we are saved from sin how can we go right back into it. No not a modern gospel but a false one an incomplete one If you dont like what Paul said on it read Peter and John. Would you pull a person out of the water who was drowning then throw them right back into deeper waters? No you would take them away from the water. Just as if Jesus saves you from sin He will not lead you right back into it. Many attend churches all the time and have great ministries and fellowships and triving childrens ministries but if they are not following Jesus' commandments then they are not His.

Look at any john piper, paul washer or john macarthur videos on You tube, or even on God tube and see what some will say about them.

Jesus said we have to eat his body and drink his blood. That puts him at our first priority. The poor girl in this video has obviosly not read the word. Poor thing.

Pardon me for my personal side bar observation.... You know, I just had a revelation that I AM A LIBERAL...at least in relation to many other beings on these threads. And I must ponder this...and many other things before spouting off as usual. Good post Bible7. Just not exactly where I am at the moment. j

This was someone setting a trap. The form of the questions lead this person to answer in a way that confirmed the person's opinion asking the questions. It also looked like this young lady was intoxicated. Mmmmm....how many young ladies are like this in your single groups at church....?? There are MANY women who believe the same as this one proclaimed, that the bible is chauvanistic. Another thing was, this lady goes to church in what is traditionally, I think, called the Bible Belt where most go to church as a social event, not as christians. My opinion? Another person believing in situantional truth. I would say many people believe this way....probably the majority of christians use this form of biblical interpretation. Eight years of argueing doctrine here proves that without a doubt.

And there you have it-head knowledge without the heart connection. Can you count how many times she said BUT? Sounds like a statement we all need to be weary of: "But Lord, didn't I......" Her discomfort towards the end of the segment signifies that she knew the words she was speaking were contradictory and promptly exited stage left. Bible7 nailed it! This is exactly what the majority of said Christians are-COMPLACENT. They think they have met the "requirements", said a few words, prayed a few prayers and oila, they are saved without any further action necessary. Somebody mentioned Paul Washer's preaching.. If you think he is soft, you might want to listen again. may I suggest is sermon to the 5000 youth on Godtube.com. He preaches the truth in a way that makes people either stand up and praise God or walk away disgruntled and rejecting because it does not fit into their lifestyle. Something to think hard about. Which Jesus do we serve?

We need to hear more conviction from our pulpits and less "im ok, your ok". Im not saying there arent any strong pastors out there, just not enough.

Colliefan, it seems as though only the words were spoken. I gotta ask, where are her spiritual leaders? What are they teaching? We so often hear,"do not judge, lest ye be judged". Do we really understand what that means or do we simply use that when it is convenient to overlook sin? My pastor this morning said that he was afraid to judge another. I want to know, at what point do we fear the Word of God, rather than fearing what men will think? If God says it in His Word, does it mean we are judging? Or maybe it is more that He outlined for us what a disciple is to be and what they will act like, so that we do not become deceived and carried about by all sorts of doctrines?

Would judging this lady make her come to Christ? I guess the issue we're discussing is not even about her salvation, but we're discussing how the gospel is being preached in the world today. Perhaps that is where the problem lies. Wouldn't it be better if we focus on loving people and relating to them in a way that Jesus would relate to them. Maybe hitting them with bible verses isn't going to change the way they think about Jesus, because that becomes just "religion" to them. But if we learn to love people and engage people in real relationship the way Jesus did, perhaps it would make people open up to the reality of Jesus and the His relevance in their lives. Jesus met people where they were and didn't force them to change before he related to them. It's when people are touched by Jesus's love that they allow HIm into their lives and allow their issues to be confronted and transformed.

I am not sure I agree that all christians should act all the same. I am not sure there is a difinitive doctrine. It sounds like, to me, if people do not believe in your doctrine, they are not saved. A christian will.. have a changed life, exhibit fruit, not deny Christ, seek fellowship, seek the Lord in thier life, and want to do good works.

This reminds me of all the hullaballo over Miley Cyrus and her posing pictures. Miley said she was a professed Christian, but she had done something which was not a witness to Christ. This young lady reminds us that we need to pray for our young people and for us to share our faith with others because this world is darker by the minute.

I agree, we should love the lost and dying. But no one will go to hell because they werent loved on enough, or because we gave them too much scripture or because we didnt offer them a Christ who was relevant to their lives, they wiil go to hell because they love sin more than they love christ. Why is there this idea that if we present the gospel and it is rejected it is because our presentation was flawed. If people reject God's word, no amount of "dressing it up" will help. We get the kind of "christianity" this girl has because someone took all of the bite out of the gospel when it was given to her so as not to offend her. Modern seeker sensitive evangelism believes that if we make the gospel as inoffensive as we can we can get them to come to church, and then little by little feed them the meat of the word. But this NEVER works, because to keep them there you have to refrain from preaching on themes like repentance, obedience, holiness, and hell to name a few. Then all you have is a feel good faith and a church full of unrepentant sinners who believe they are heaven bound when in reality they are on a four lane highway to hell, and THAT is cruel. So love them yes!, but love them enough to tell them the truth!
