I remember they did an "exeriment" on Good Morning America (or one of those morning shows) and it never worked for them. That vid is on youtube though... just don't know the link. Lol.

You all can try it if you want... but the videos are a hoax set up by a company that makes cell phone head sets... just a sneaky marketing gimmick.

(Scroll down for the popcorn segment)

I personally don't think the dangers are real... but a cancer specialist at the university of pittsburgh (one of the top in the nation) just sent memos to all his collegues and employees telling them to stop using them and that he feels that they are a danger, but action has to be taken now, because by the time science proves it, it will be too late. <Shrug> Dunno.

And here I was so proud of myself for always checking Snopes and never passing on false emails.

<sigh>

Oh, how the mighty have fallen.

That picture was hilarious! I just got a bluetooth on Friday since you can't drive and talk in California without one now, so it really cracked me up! I wonder how many people have really resorted to that!

I don't worry about the "supposed" dangers. If we gave up everything that was a reported danger to our health, we'd have to give up eating, breathing, bathing and just about everythign else.

My SIL sent that to me in an e-mail just before the new law went into effect. I still don't have a head set and don't plan on getting one. I don't like the idea of something attached to my ear and I'd rather not talk on the phone while driving.

Me either...I seldom drove and talked even before the law went into effect unless it was a very brief call like to get directions or check on someone's schedule. But I commute two hours to school, and sometimes it can't be helped if I need to be in touch with my family about something brief. In town, I just pull over, but most of my drive is on the freeway making the earpeice much more convenient if needed.

From what I've read, microwave popcorn is more dangerous for you than cell phones.

Just sayin'

Oh goodness, I am on my phone all the time - especially when I'm driving long distances - because I'm alone. It helps to keep me awake and keep me focused on what I'm doing - contrary to popular belief. If/when I do end up able to drive long distances again, I'll have to get the bluetooth, just for that reason. But, I used to talk to someone on his all the time, and it was difficult to hear him many times - especially if he had his windows open.

Just invest in a good bluetooth, Lisa...mine works great! I even wore it around the house yesterday because I needed both hands free and was having a long conversation.

That's what I intend on doing - when I get one. With my new position - I may need one sooner than expected.

I am so apologetic TA for sending that to you unverified. They fooled me as well. I just watched it closely and they must have done some pretty good editing. But don't give up! Snopes said they used TWO cell phones and the video shows FOUR! I say go ahead and try it. Hey, if you can get it to work you'll save your reputation.

Make sure a bluetooth fits. We had one that fell off my head all the time. After the third time I tried to glue it back together it stopped working. I now have the wired earpiece again. humbling.
