How do introverts or quiet men register on your weird-o-meter? Are they creepy or intriguing? Do you know of any introverts in your life that might interest you?

I've known some really nice guys who were somewhat introverted. So I don't think that just because someone is introverted it means they're weird. It may just take a little longer to get to know them.

It depends on if being wierd is what is causing them to be introverted.

I don't mind introverts - I'm sort of one myself so I understand. I don't like having to carry the conversation though - I'd prefer to listen more than talk. So, with extreme introverts it can be quite uncomfortable because it is a bit too quiet :)

It all depends on if by introvert you mean they are just shy and quieter than most people and prefer to not be around crowds. Or do you mean they are socially awkward and have a very difficult time with people and usually avoid social events altogether? There's a huge difference between shy and socially awkward. I married an introvert and I am definitely NOT one, so I obviously don't find them weird at all. But, my husband isn't socially awkward at all. He is very capable of carrying on a great conversation at social events, and he engages in activities and things with our friends easily and willingly. I personally wouldn't be interested in someone socially awkward to the point that they clam up, can't carry on an intelligent conversation, or refuse to go many places. With my personality and being a people person, that would be disaster.

And if they are just the shy, quieter type they are definitely not creepy. Besides, I consider myself to be an introvert, so that type would be just fine. Just as long as, like Rgod said, there aren't uncomfortable silences in conversation!

I tend to herm-a-tize myself a lot...so introverts are awesome to me. Love 'em. Can't get enough of them. They let me talk too much. They enjoy observing things and helping. Case in point...I was at Orchard Supply today trying to find a particular flusher thangy for my toilet (the handle and the thing that connects to the metal chain)...I am getting my floor redone in the bathroom and the handyman is willing to put this in to replace my slightly broken one....(must be the whole cotton-picking thing, not just the handle..found that out). Well, I went to OS and stood around...getting nowhere. Ignored. I looked absolutely pathetic as a woman standing there in an ocean of men...holding a plastic handle (to compare the degree angle and find one less then 90 degrees...needing more like 45). I held it up finally and interrupted a customer and guywhoworksthere..."do you know where I can find these?" He pointed and said "aisle 7". I went there and could not find them. A gentleman (kind of cute actually) walked over to me smiling and gently caught my eye...then said "have you found them yet?" and I said "NO!" and he directed me there...then disappeared down aisle 7 forever gone. He was a quiet observer, my favorite type. I just love those type of guys. Helpful, considerate. And not all full of blah-blah-blab.

I am an extrovert married to an introvert. Our first conversation consisted of me asking questions and him answering them with not much. Normally, I would have thought at the end of the conversation that he wasn't interested, but the next day he started talking to me. I like that we balance each other. I'm an extrovert who needs introverted time and I don't think I could handle being married to another. Though my husband's quietness drives me absolutely batty sometimes it's one of the many things I love about him.

ORIGINAL: Cute-N-Sassy Introverted means that a person gains his/her energy from her down-time while an extrovert gains his/her energy from being around other people. I'm an introvert and like Ps103, extroverts wear me out!! I love 'em, though, because they help pull me out of my shell, and I have a lot of fun... I just feel bad I can't give them all my energy! So yeah, I'll definitely fall for an introvert... we can pull away from the crowds together. Love this!!

I think I'd prefer an introvert ... to a reasonable extent anyways! (Not talking agoraphobic). I think we'd get along better - while I'm pretty outgoing and like people ... I get my energy from being alone. That said - I need to figure out how to get introverts to ask me out! I'm kinda old-fashioned in that I prefer HE ask ME than vice versa. Plus, it shows that while he might be an introvert ... he has some strength and is willing to take the risk.

I'm very introverted but its very easy to get a long with very extroverted people, if were around each other enough.... much more so than another introvert. There are two types of extroverts though and the second doesn't mesh well at all >.<

I married an introvert too. We don't really have many awkward pauses in conversation, because he has learned that he can say what he's thinking to me (however odd) and we'll discuss it. Whether it's wormhole physics or the price of rice. Granted I'm an introvert geek too and engineers just kind of have our own language... I'm not sure how you get one to ask you out. I got asked out due to a dare. No kidding... his roommates decided they were going to throw a dinner party and all the roommates had to have a "date" for it or be ribbed mercilessly for the foreseeable future. He called me. Rest is history. hehe How do quiet men register? Frankly I think a lot of women are more comfortable with "quiet" men than with the rowdier ones. So, if she kind of knows you from common interests... give it a shot, ask her out... worst thing she can do is say no.
