Have any of you ever heard of Baker Creek Seed? They're right around here, and their big farm (rather out-of-the-way) is about an hour and a half from here.
The founder of the company is Jeremiath Gettle, who was homeschooled and at age 17 started a seed catalog to sell to farmers. He married Emilee Freie, the daughter of homeschooling advocates Jim and Lyn Freie. Jeremiath and Emilee have a little daughter almost one year old.
They are involved in agro-activism to stop the "Frankenfoodies", or genetic engineering scientists, from approving more GMO's, and take political positions (which I agree with, mostly) on various other issues.
The only major thing I don't agree with (as far as I know) is some of the doctrinal beliefs promoted in the Freie's publications. I always mention that lest I be seen as endorsing them.
