I cannot say that I'm the biggest fan of tennis, but I know a good player when I see one. In my teenage years, I followed Bjorn Borg like a hawk. I was fascinated w/ his playing ability. When he lost to John McEnroe, I seemed to lose interest in the game. I watched a few matches here & there & do enjoy the intensity of the Williams' sisters when they play together. A couple of years ago, I happened to catch the French Open & I was totally amazed at what I saw. I saw a player that had everything I remembered in Bjorn Borg. The player is Rafael Nadal. I thoroughly enjoyed watching his serves, backhand, & definitely his speed. I knew that this guy had potential to make it far. I enjoy Wimbledon, but don't like the fact that the finals are in the morning. I try to watch what I can before I go to church. Yesterday, I managed to watch the first set before leaving. I had given up on the possibility that it would be on past noon, so I went to lunch w/ the group & to Walmart. I was very surprised & thrilled to find it still on when I got home - late in the 5th set. To see both Rafa & Roger, still as strong as in the beginning, shows how seriously they take this game. The intensity of the crowd was electrifying. It was the best Wimbledon I had ever seen! I'm glad that Bjorn was there & I'm sure he was impressed. Rafa will be around for years to come & still be a marvel to watch. I am concerned about his tendonitis. It seems that always the best have to deal w/ a physical limitation, so I do hope this will not hamper his future. Anyone want to share their thoughts on the amazing event we witnessed yesterday? kd

I'm not a big tennis fan, but my boyfriend plays tennis so I've been introduced to it. That match, though, had me riveted. It was so intense. Talk about well matched...I'm very glad I was able to watch it.
