I posted something recently much similar to this, but now I am asking for more details

When having a Bible study with your spouse, what exactly do you study? How do you do it? Do you each read out loud? Do you use a devotional book? Do you study a book of the Bible or a topic?

My husband doesn't like to read out loud and what he's reading sinks in more if he reads it in his head. I'm trying to have some structure to our Bible time with God, but I'm not sure how to do it.

Any ideas would be great!

Well for my husband and I we do it a few ways. Every Tuesday night we have a 2 hour session with our preacher showing us how to teach Sunday school or sermons (almost like Bible College). Every Sunday in Sunday school we go together and study certain books of the Bible. Right now we are in Hebrews. When we read something while the other is not present, we call them on the phone or text them to read the scripture. We then read it and then discuss what we gathered out of it and how to apply it to our lives. On the weekends, we do our assignments from our Tuesday class together. We will read to ourselves, then read out loud, then discuss what we observed and then interpret, then apply it to our lives.

My advice is if your husband doesn't like to read out loud, then you sit down with him and read in your heads the same book. Then open it up for discussion by saying what do you think this means and how do you think it relates to us and how can we apply it to us?

My husband and I started in 1 Peter in our independent study to show us how to treat each other.
