It is just not enough to be a Christian. To love God with all our heart, soul and mind. To love our neighbour. And to live a Christ-like life.

All this is not enough.

When we get to meet God He will ask: what did you do to spread my Word amongst those who did not believe in me?

We Christians have an additional (implied) responsibility. To spread His Word and be His witnesses.

How well are we doing do you think?

Not enough for what? Salvation? I emphatically disagree!

For rewards? Perhaps.

Christ said that we will be His witnesses. That wasn't a command; it was a statement of fact. We're His witnesses whether we want to be or not. People are watching us and determining if this "faith thing" is real whether we want them to or not.

Not enough - period. full stop. That's it.

Nothing to do with salvation or rewards.

He said we should be His witnesses. Which of course we are.

Some Christians however are very bad witnesses - their example is far from what one would desire of a Christian.

Hence my point that we have an additional responsibility to be a witness. To be a good example. To spread the Word.

Myself? Certainly bad compared to what I could be allowing God to do in my life. But it's a process and I really got a conviction of this last night actually. Just seeking the excellence of God in my life all over and having that show as to be an effective witness.

What crowns will I be able to give to my King?

We(as redeemed souls)have the responsibility(and privilege)to look for own opportunities and act obediently. We're not called to save 'em we're called to obedience for 'their bleeding'. This Saturday is our community 'Block Party' sponsored by our local assembly. Wednesday eve. was our 'Concert of Prayer', three weeks ago we got a 'prayer dot' to remind us to whisper the prayer ever time we see our watch or cellphone and we've been passing out 'Block Party' flyers. I even gave one to a tavern! She exclaimed, 'A Block Party! I'll post it inside.'(I was walking on the sidewalk.)

What is enough for God is for us to be who we are, and who we are, are His Children. If it is you living the life you live, then it is not the Christian life. The Christian life is Christ, and only He can live it. Our responsibility is to abide in Christ. And when we are abiding in Him, we are His witnesses.

When we meet God face to face He will not ask us, "what did you do?" What He will ask us is, "what did you do with My Son?" It will be a rhetorical question at that point.

It is our marvelous privilege to share Jesus Christ with others, it is not a chore, nor is it a competition. We are all unique creations in Christ and He uses our uniqueness for His glory.

Peace

Actually it is enough to love God with all our heart, soul, and mind. And it is enough to love our neighbor as ourselves. Because if we indeed love God with our entire being and our neighbor as ourselves, we will be willing to share the best news possible with them. We wouldn't be able to bear the possibility of them dying without Jesus when we can tell them about Him.

I agree with this statement. If we love God with all our heart and mind, we will serve Him fully. If we love people as ourselves we will not hurt our witness and when we do share Christ with people it will be with full power.

Yes it is enough.

If we live our lives by the greatest commandment we will be the shining city on a hill and draw men to us.

People see the light of Jesus through those who do love God with all their heart, mind, body, and soul, and love their neighbors. That is the greatest, no that is the only witness their is to God.

All the lip service in the world will not lead anyone to Jesus; it is the love we exhibit and the drawing of the Holy Spirit.
