My husband bought me this game and I have the workout mode set up now. Last night I "jogged" nearly three miles and burned nearly 200 calories while playing.

It's hard and I'm terrible at it, but it's a lot of fun and it's really cool to have a video game that makes you move. Anyone else played it for fitness?

When we first got it (a couple of years ago) my son played it ALL THE TIME...he loved it and got really good at it. I did it a few times and it was a lot of fun. Maybe we'll pull it back out now that you reminded me of it! I did find it kind of difficult on carpeting; hardwood is much better. It is fun even though I feel pretty klutzy at first!

ive heard a lot of people of using it for such a purpose.

but.. dont trust what the calorie indicator says. it could be way way off.

either way though, if you like it, then its good for cardio

I agree the calorie counter can't be completely accurate, but as out of breath as I was, I felt like I had burned more than it said. Still...it's motivating to get those numbers up.

We have it, but I am so clumsy that I can't get the hang of it. Plus, I am one of those weird people that still have a problem with left and right.

I'm interested in Wii Fit that just came out this month. Have anyone tried that?

Oddly, I've had this problem with the game, but with the up and down. It says up, my foot goes down; it says down, my foot goes up. What's the deal with that?

nah i think its just getting your mind to a point that it associates a certain picture to a certain movement. takes time, but just like with most things practice makes best?

Yes, practice. I feel like a big dolt, though, when I'm doing it. Glad no one's watching!!!

Wii fit is not being officially released until next week. I have prepurchased it through amazon for my wife. I'll post back in two weeks. We are going on a cruise the week of Mermorial Day so we won't be home to try it.

In case anyone is interested, I wore my Polar heart rate monitor tonight while going through Workout 1. The game said I burned 34 calories; the heart rate monitor said I burned 85. I thought it felt harder than the game was saying.

All together in 23 minutes of game play, I burned 155 calories and stayed in my target heart rate zone 20:00. That's pretty darn good, if you ask me. (And that was in basic mode!)

We got wii fit today. It is fun and a good workout so far. We have not tried all of the exercises that are available yet. Some exercises are unlocked the more you use it. Hula hoops is fun. I haven't gotten the hang of ski slalom yet. The push-up/plank exercise is good workout even on 6 reps. Yuo do a pushup then either a left or right plank for each rep. It takes a few minutes to setup each person but then you can move pretty quickly to the training. You can password protect your profile so that others can't see your weight/bmi if you don't want them to. My BMI was higher than I thought. 25.6, in the upper range for normal but above the reccommended 22. It also lets you set goals for your weight/bmi and adjust the maount of time to reach your goal.

My husband wants Wii Fit, but first we have to buy a Wii and you know how hard those are to come by.

We actually found another DDR game on sale and decided to buy it. It has a mini-game mode in which you have to run...fast...to beat the computer. It has other workout type games you can unlock, so I'm anxious to see what those are like.

My daughter wants DDR for her birthday next month, and I'm going to try to get it. She wanted it last year, but I couldn't afford it. She has used it at a friend's house and she really likes it. I think it would help her get in better shape (although I tell her she can burn just as many calories pushing the lawn mower and mopping the floor!).

I got the Wii Fit Sunday. I've lost 5 pounds since Sunday!! I "play" for an hour each night. It is lots of fun. I like the hula hoops and the dance step.

I have also been watching what I eat. I'm eating lots of fresh veggies, fruit, chicken and fish. I've cut my bread and starches down to almost nothing. When I do eat bread it is whole wheat and that is probably twice a week I may eat a turkey sandwich or have toast with my eggs. And I can't forget to mention WATER! I'm drinking lots of water.

I've played the other DDR games before... but when I saw at a christian bookstore that they had a version similar (pc though) that was christian music. I got it, even though I had to mail it home to myself because we weren't sure about how well it would go over at the air port. I'm not that good at it, but if I have one maybe I could have the time to practice and maybe I could get better. If you're interested it... its called praise dance. I'll tell you more when I get the game and can try it out. :)
