Does anyone ever actually wash their ties? Would they shrink if you did?

If you put them in a washer, you mess them up. I have washed ties when certain "unfortunate" events have happened. When I have needed my ties to be cleaned I would bring them to the dry cleaner instead.

I think I have washed my husband's ties before, only when they were obviously in need of it. I don't remember it shrinking. I guess it depends on what fabric it is.

I have DH's dry cleaned, I'm pretty sure that's what the care directions are since they are made of silk.

They have to be dry cleaned. This has always been my understanding.
