Who here is going? My family and i have been going for several years now and we love it more than any of the other events of the year.

Seems like attendance was down last year, but the singing is still GREAT. If you've ever thought about going, looks like you might want to this year. 21 years is a long time to be doing any event and they have talked about it being the last year before. Great lineup this year! Blackwoods, Chuck Wagon Gang, Dove Brothers, Inspirations, Dixie Echoes, Prophets (Can't wait for that!), Melody Boys, Florida Boys, Southern Sound......

Please come and see us all there!

Found it! Aug. 14-16. I'll have to study it a little. Maybe talk to Dinana to see if she's interested!

We went when they were having it in Greenville, but have not been to it since they moved to Knoxville. Location was probably the reason we didn't go to Knosvile as it is right downtown. It was a Furman College several years just outside of Greenville.

Hidee,
This will be my 20th year to attend the Grand Ole Gospel Reunion! (I only missed the first one because I did not know it was taking place!) I would encourage everyone who loves traditional Quartet and Gospel Music to attend. There are wonderful fun filled events throughout the day and nights. "Lets Make a Deal" is a wonderful event where you choose a singer to play some hilarious games for you for cash and prizes. (I am the lady who helps prepare the games backstage.) I have personally witnessed Glen Payne, Les Beasley, Michael Booth, McCray Dove, Andrew Ishee, Jonathan Sawrie, John Rulapaugh and many other SGM "personalities" participate in hilarious games to win prizes for their friends and fans.
After each of the concerts there are late night breakfasts and jam sessions that last into the early morning. There are some wonderful "scrap iron" Quartets put together at the jam sessions.
Charlie Waller and the GOGR gave me the wonderful opportunity to meet many of my "Quartet Heroes" that I would have never had the opportunity to meet any other way. Danny Koker was there when Charlie had the first ever reunion of the Cathedral Quartet. As you can tell I could write a novel about GOGR. However, I will stop here and encourage you to attend!
The website is Grand Ole Gospel Reunion the number for information is 864-288-5251. I am one of the many volunteer helpers during the weekend. It is simply the greatest Quartet event I have ever attended!

I have most all of their early GOGR videos, and enjoy them all very much. It's just sad to see each year, there is somebody else missing. It's really sad when Charlie had the In Memory Of section on each years videos of who passed away since the last one. But still very happy to watch them.

DJS, Charlie quit taping the reunion last year. The videos were great, but they never fully captured the total reunion experience anyway. You better come so you can see it all.

Yes...The Prophets will be there...Fri and Sat evenings. Charlie just booked us back in May. I noticed that we are still not posted at the website. That's ok.

It's very exciting for Ed Hill and the rest of us. Knoxville was the home of The Prophets from their beginning in 1959 until their suspension in 1975.
That fact was not lost on Mr Waller...and he wanted to be the first to "welcome The Prophets back" to their original home.

I for one am really looking forward to meeting many of the fans
of good gospel music. Of course, Gerald Williams of The Melody Boys is a good friend of mine from right here in Little Rock...and The Dove Brothers are one of my absolute favorites!

Come on! Come join us for the Grand Ole Gospel Reunion!

Unfortunately, that isn't gonna happen.
