I've gone to different types of discussion forums, and at one secular forum I have been given some positive feedback however sincere they may or may not be. I have mentioned the fact that I'm a Christian. I've wondered if at times we get lead to certain website discussion forums just as we may be lead to an actual physical place. I realize the internet can certainly be an opportunity to plant seeds. But, has anyone here actually lead someone to Christ at a discussion or chat forum?

Yes! I was on a Secular website where many mocked the things of God.
(I believed the Lord put me there to pray, plant seeds, and witness.)
Three years later, (This January 2008 in fact!) A woman who claimed to know God, yet didn't see what the big deal was about Jesus, came to faith in Christ!!!! The Lord opened her eyes to His Truth when she read the gospel of John! Since then, she is really growing in her faith and loves the Lord and has a great hunger for His Word!

You can never know whether by saying something on a website such as Cross Daily you may have led someone to Christ.

It is certainly a great vehicle for one to witness about Christ - and if as a consequence someone somewhere in this world is led to search further and eventually find Christ - then how wonderful your work has been; whether you get to know about it or not.

Having said this: Christians should also be careful that by what they say, or the way they say it, they don't drive those searching away from God. We can so easily, unwittingly, say the wrong thing.

so true, I fear that I might say something that will turn away a searching soul. All the more reason to pray God gives us the right words to use.

I can't say for certain that I have won anyone to Christ through the Internet, but I do know that my Bible study is having a positive influence on thousands of people. It is available through the Internet.

I don't think that a forum such as this will have as much influence as other Christian websites. I've observed enough Christians being technical or nit-picking with one another to discourage an immature believer who doesn't understand that the saving grace of Christ overlooks a lot of our well-meaning attempts to be right with Him.

God bless,

I would not think that I have lead anyone to the Lord over the net, but I have ministered to a lot of folks and got then in or back in a fellowship in the area they live in and have gotten and still get great reports.

Thanks
RC

Only God knows the condition of their soul, but I have shared the message and love of Christ to many via the internet.

I was led to God by a response to a question I had posed on a chat/forum several years ago. What I had done was state my confusion with the bible and some of its contents seemingly contradictory. The response I got made a lot of sense to me and the gist of it told me not to overintellectualize the bible's contents. Still makes a lot of sense today.

But yes, this person answered a specific question in my mind without me really asking it outright. Today I can't even tell you what s/he wrote to me except what I stated above, but at the time I was certain the Holy Spirit was making me understand what I needed to in order to move ahead.

Internet can be a powerful, powerful tool to be used for the Lord.

I have had the privledge of using it for years and sharing my writings on it.

I am humbled that God has blessed my ministry on the Internet so much. He has assured me that many, many seeds have been planted and, that much fruit will be/is being brought forth for His glory.

Not only has He allowed me to bring souls into His Kingdom but He has allowed me to encourage and strengthen souls and to put a hunger in people's heart for more of the Lord Jesus Christ.

What a privledge....What a God we serve!
