It seems like a reasonably good thing to do, if you can post an advertisement with unlimited words. You don't want all those nannies getting into your kids' lives, then dropping out again because the possible challenges weren't made clear. Better to be up-front if things are going to be that hard. Many of the wordings seem like 'what went wrong with the last nanny' kind of statements. But, I am concerned about a mom who thinks her her kids are a pain (not 'can be a pain' or 'behave badly at times'), is loud and pushy and is OK with that, not to mention at least one of them is being treated for ADD or something similar. It seems like things are fairly out of control, and I'm not sure hiring someone to provide their care, nurture and discipline is the best plan... unless maybe that person was a trained professional? I don't think the average babysitter will be able to help these kids, even if she is able to cope with and supervise them. I wonder if the difficulties about getting and keeping a good nanny has contributed to some of the problems the mom alludes to.

Having had some bad experiences being promised great things for a nanny job (if you're really curious you may pm me), and then the parents never following through on what they promised (3times, 2 families), I admire her honesty. However, it doesn't look like a job that would appeal to many people. I've found I much preferred pre school teaching to nannying. The parents are more respectful of you, the kids are on the school's turf during the day, and you don't have to be with the same people 24/7.

I think she has a terrible attitude about her kids. How sad for them. I took that a totally different way! I took it to mean that if the person was applying for this job in order to meet some emotional need within themselves, as a kind of therapy, it wouldn't work.

I did think about that at first, but reading the rest of her words, I didn't get the impression she'd be thinking along those lines.
