What are some of the fun things you do with your friends, or your singles group or even alone during the holidays.

The Holidays can be a difficult time for singles, but it does not have to be.

We are trying to plan a very busy schedule, of fun things to do, so none of the singles in our group will feel lonely during the holiday season.

Do you have any ideas?

Parties, movie nights, shopping trips, caroling at nursing homes, serving a soup kitchen, wrapping presents for the elderly, taking a less than privliged child shopping, volunteering at an animal shelter...

Hmmm...I can't think of anything else.

My little sis and I always pick one really cold night, make hot cocoa and sit outside and count the stars while singing Christmas carols together...something we started doing when she was about three...she'll be thirteen in just two weeks?! Where did the time go?

When you're oldest child is almost 13 then you can ask about the time.

We also like to watch funny holiday movies.

LOL! I helped a lot with my little sis and bro, so sometimes it feels like they are mine, partially anyways! I cannot wait until I do have kids though!

We like to watch funny holiday movies too! It is like a tradition around our house!

That made me laugh Tink, and think when your oldest child is almost 32, you can ask about the time... but then that made me remember years ago taking a walk on a nice sunny afternoon with my Mom, a friend of hers and her friends Mom (Gma "K"). Mom and her friend were talking about "where the time went" because I was now an adult out taking a walk with them and that made them feel old, when Gma K was quiet a minute or two and then said- when your youngest child is retired and you're taking a walk with her, then you can feel old!

I guess it's all in your prespective...

As far as Christmas goes, I have done a "Open House" on Christmas Day a couple times in the years since the divorce. That was fun. Our family time is Christmas Eve, so it leave all day Christmas Day for friends. I haven't done it for a couple years, the last one was the year my Mom died- 4 days after Christmas. Maybe it's time to do it again this year.

Well, outside of work I'll be helping plan our company Christmas party again this year, taking line dancing lessons one night a week, going line dancing to practice steps another night, another night playing on the company men's b-ball team, trying to keep up with laundry and Smallville in the interim, and most of all finding time to play the son, brother and uncle role with the fam....

January I'll be asleep!

Well I got a call from my Sisters and Borther last night and they booked me a flight for Thanksgiving to come out and suprise my parents.

My boss let me take the time off needed for it <faints> so it looks like I'm going to be with family this Thanksgiving instead of watching a movie and having a PB&J on the couch <smile>.

Woo Hoo!
