Listening to Hollywood celebrities degrade anything Republican has really irritated me. Why don't they concentrate on making decent movies and leave politics to those who know something about it. With all their money, they could use it for better than conducting witch hunts against Republicans.

Its not just the Republicans. They conduct their hunts against the Democrats, too.
If it seems like they're on the hunt against Republicans, right now, wait until the Democrats get into office (considering of course that Obama wins the election). He and his "causes" will get blasted, too.
Whoever is in power will take the brunt of cheap shots and railings. Like everyone else, they have their "special interests" that they want to "fight" for. Unfortunately, UNLIKE everyone else, they've got a slew of money to throw around. And since the Republicans are in power, the ones who feel their "causes" are threatened are making the most noise.
Mark my words, for every Bill Mahar, there is a Dennis Miller.

Oct 3rd An American Carol is coming out. Its full of conservative actors :) It gets frustrating yes, which is why I stopped listening. I still enjoy political satire that pokes fun at both sides, I just dislike the mean spirited stuff which is (more often than not) aimed at conservatives whether they are Republicans or Democrats.

John, I'm just so surprised these celebritities think we value their opinion! From Oprah on down.
These people are so far removed from God that the thought of making an uplifting and clean movie wouldn't cross their minds.
Romans 1:22 Claiming to be wise, they became utter fools instead. 23 And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people, or birds and animals and snakes. 24 So God let them go ahead and do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other's bodies. 25 Instead of believing what they knew was the truth about God, they deliberately chose to believe lies. So they worshiped the things God made but not the Creator himself, who is to be praised forever. Amen. 26 That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. 27 And the men, instead of having normal sexual relationships with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men and, as a result, suffered within themselves the penalty they so richly deserved. 28 When they refused to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their evil minds and let them do things that should never be done. 29 Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, fighting, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip. 30 They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful. They are forever inventing new ways of sinning and are disobedient to their parents. 31 They refuse to understand, break their promises, and are heartless and unforgiving. 32 They are fully aware of God's death penalty for those who do these things, yet they go right ahead and do them anyway. And, worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too.

Why are you surprised? Go into any drug store and watch the new issues of People or other entertainment-gossip rags fly off the shelves. A lot of people (not everyone) get obcessed with the fabulous lifestyles that these people lead. And why wouldn't they (sad as that is to say)? They're living vicariously through these people who can afford to fly in their private jet to Jamaica on a whim, party like they don't have a care in the world, and then come home to a house that costs more than you, me, and any 10 other people on this forum combined will earn in a year.
I'm not saying that its right, but people do this. And when they do, I'm sure these stars really DO feel like lots of people care what they say... and I'm sure many do. Now to the credit of some of these celebritites, some of them are very well-read and actually DO validate their opinions in respectable manners. However, I could really care less what Denise Richards thinks of U.S. relations with Russia, or how Ryan Seacrest views the current state of the housing market.

Who cares? Grace cares after all, God sacrificed his only Son for salvation of universe in the only reasonable response. Any political faction , ideology or vanity pales in comparison but I'm a registered Independent.

I think its because they honestly have nothing better to do than to downgrade someone. They dont realize that no one in their right mind is gonna take what they say about politics seriously.

Don't evangelical Christians degrade anything democratic and liberal? The ones that post in the current events section of this forum certainly do. They, like Hollywood celebrities, are simply participating in the political process.

Depending on your definition of democratic, I agree. I would say suggest using left-wing because democratic incites subversive ideas concerning whether evangelical Christians are against the ideals of democracy, or the Democratic party. Entirely two different things.
But yeah, depending on your stance, I've seen some flaming rhetoric against left-wingers that are ridiculous. Nothing to make me not stand by my own convictions with politics but again, leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
A lot of times it's a "HEY KETTLE YOU'RE BLACK" stuff. More people should consider the logs they keep in their eyes.
