*sigh*

Is anyone else sick of this garbage. The television writers walking out on their jobs was silly enough. But now the ACTORS are going to strike? Give me a break! When you're making millions of dollars doing things most people only DREAM of doing, I think you should be able to find a way to solve your problems WITHOUT making your fans suffer.

Good thing I renewed my gym membership. I wonder if my wife wants to do the same thing with her magazine subscriptions?

Who cares? Now should there be another hockey lock-out that may be another thing.

Well, I can't argue with that.

Well, seeing as how most shows these days are reality shows, I'm wondering just exactly how many actors would actually be losing a job?

If you think that most actors make millions of dollars a year, you're fooling yourself.

And as far as fans suffering - boo hoo. Nothing new to watch on tv.

The people who really suffer in all of this are the crew members who aren't striking, but are dependent on the industry for a living.

Funny you mention it, 'cause when I was keeping track of the actors' strike, there's two different union involved: one is AFTRA, which is more to do with lower-level thespians who work on TV, if not minor roles on film--whereas with SAG, it's comprised mainly with A-listers, or any actor of that higher caliber.

And with the recent (AP? Reuters?) reports indicates, I think it's AFTRA that received the better deal, much to the chagrin of its more prominent guild counterparts. That's fine with me, given that I don't think I have much respect for SAG.

True, but I can't really fault the writers - the studios and other execs are trying to make more money off the writers' work w/o giving the writers a cut. The studio execs are the ones to blame.
