You may vote for more than one option.

I would need to put in more than one option. I have one dd that fixes her own hair. I fix my little girl's hair usually half up and half down, or in braids, or pony tale or pig tales. When she fixes her own hair she will use a headband.

I needed more than one option for my one dd. When I pin her down, I'll make sure at least the top is pulled or pinned back somehow to keep it out of her face. Left on her own, she'll let it stay down in her face or, if I'm lucky, use a headband. She wants it cut shorter but dh wont hear it; I think maybe that's why she lets it be so unruly hoping I'll get frustrated and cut it of...one of these days I will and dh will have to get over it. She's got such thin hair anyway (like my mom), it really should be shorter. It's a 3-way battle.

My daughter's hair was long last week but she begged me to cut it. It was so hot for her. This week it is in a short bob and she loves it. It is really wavy - considered curly - so it is cute.

Our daughter had hair down to her waist until she asked to donate it to Locks for Love, now it is a really cute short bob.

My 10 year old has long hair but over the last few years has had it from really long to a really short bob. She looks best with it longer tho. It's probably about half way down her back now. Usually she just wears it down except for swimming when she pulls it up into a pony tail. In the past we have braided her hair in several braids when wet and when we took out the braids when dry she had extremely wavy hair! We don't do that very often tho- just takes too much time.

My 7 year old has a shorter bob style just above shoulder length. She can go longer or shorter and it would still look nice. When it's longer we do do a lot of pony tails, but not braids. Her hair is just too fine to braid well.

Blessings,

Garsy

One girl has long hair (past her shoulder blades but used to be to her waist). She just wears it down or with a headband. Until a couple years ago it was always in braids or ponytails. Now that she can brush it herself she likes it down. Once in a while she will ask for ponytails but it makes her look much younger

The older one had it just past her ears and it's real curly. Thanks to Ellie-mae's suggestion she has me pull the sides up sometimes in a barrette. WHen her hair is wet it's at least an inch longer than dry: it curls up that much. It comes past her shoulders when it's wet.

I did check for more than one option. Didn't it work?

our oldest girl's hair gets stringy looking (even when just brushed) when it gets too long (too long as in anywhere around her shoulders or longer)...so we keep it short. Up until now it was usually in a bob type cut, but a few days ago she got it a little"older". Now it is short in the back (where you can see the layers underneath) and longer at her face so that it frames her face. It looks great on her!!!!.

Our second daughter's hair isn't as bad as the oldest, but it gets tangled easily when it gets past her shoulders, so we tend to keep it short also...usually in a "Dora the Explorer" type hair cut (which is what it is right now).

I usually put it up if we are going anywhere that people need to see their eyes, because especially with our oldest, their hair tends to be in their face. (The new hair cut on our oldest seems to be great though for this annoying feature of her hair!!!)

Braids fall out of my girls hair so I can't do those. (My hair is very very curly, theirs is not though...takes after their dad who's hair is straight as a board.....so sometimes I get overwhelmed with their hair because all the things I have always done with my hair I can't do with theirs...like braiding).

I can't vote in the poll though because it isn't set for more then one option and I have to choose more then one for my girls. Also the poll does not include "short and half up/half down" which we do often.

My girls are usually in pony tails. my 3 year old is a "rough and tumble" type...so one pony tail works best (besides she hates getting her hair brushed!). My 5 year old is a little more girly so I can do more with her (and she doesn't mind getting her hair brushed).
Oh...and both girls have hair somewhere between the bottom of their shoulder blades and waists. I LOVE long hair on little girls :)

I clicked the box for more than one option, but you're the 3rd person that said that. This is frustrating..not you guys saying it, but it not working right.

Mods, could you please fix the problem? I edited and re-checked the box after the first two people told me, and it's still not working, so if this problem could be fixed, i'd be grateful.

Sorry, should have put that. I just hadn't seen many little girls with short hair do that, but I have seen it some, and I do think it's really cute.

Ok, guys, I think I fixed the problem...Last night, I somehow messed up when I started the poll, so I had to add each option by editing. I didn't realize that for checking the box, as well as for the other stuff, I had to check apply, then done, I just kept checking the box, and then putting done. Now I have checked the box, and checked apply, and then checked done..so now you should be able to vote multiple to your hearts content..
and I'll go add your option, Sarah.

My 3 year old's hair is just below her shoulders, very fine with a slight wave. She has bangs (translation for the UK - a fringe).

I do just about everything with it - pony tail, pig tails, 2 braids, 1 braid, half-up-braided, half-up plain, clips, one clip, clips with a pony tail, head bands, around-the-head elastic head bands, everything with or without bows... loads of fun. She also wears it down and plain.

A tip: when I got a lot of clips, they got out of hand and it was hard to find a pair, or to look through them & choose. A big mess. So I got a long-ish piece of ribbon and clipped them all onto the ribbon, neatly side-by-side. Now it's easy to manage all the choices and pairs.

You forgot pony tail and pigtails in the options. Those are our two most commonly used. Hannah (3.5) has thick, wavy hair and if it's not up, it's ratty or she gets food in it. We don't leave it down often. Sometimes I do put just part of it up, and sometimes I braid the pigtails.

OK, I added them, Donna. Funny I forgot that because the whole time I was doing this poll, I was picturing Hannah in pigtails..I think way back when, you had an avatar of Hannah with her hair like that, or you mentioned it or something...that was kind of the whole inspiration for the thread..I messed up a lot on this poll, first the multiple options wasn't working right..then I forgot a bunch of hair styles..that's what I get for trying to do a poll at 12:30 am when I can't sleep and am waiting for the tylenol pm to take effect, lol.

I chose other.

My daughter has an afro. Most days it is just left natural.

When we are going somewhere special there are lots of different things that I do with it.

I'll smooth down the front with clips or a headband and then let her hair go wild behind it.

Or I'll put a whole bunch of ponytails around her entire head. (The more hair that grows, the more ponytails she gets...we started with one when she was a baby and now we're up to 6)

Or I'll do little bumps around her entire head (that is rare, it's hard to get her to sit still long enough for those which is too bad because it's my favourite hairstyle after her afro.)

When her hair is sectioned, I put a bunch of clips in her hair.

I bet Akeelah's hair is adorable!!!! I love it in your avatar!

Isabel (20 mos.) has the wildest hair on the planet. It's very . . . ummm . . . . voluminous. It stands up all over. It's now long enough to put in a ponytail or pigtails or put cute barrettes in and she looks adorable. But she leaves them in for maybe .05 seconds. So, the majority of the time, we just go with the wild-woman look.

Thanks Rachel! It's much longer now than in the photo (my goodness, that was a year ago!) I thought eventually her curls would start to grow down, but they seem to just keep going straight out!
