In the next few weeks, my wonderful husband, Ron, will be re-deploying back to Iraq with the USAF for his FIFTH time flying the not-so-friendly skies over there. He is a pilot, and volunteered for this redeployment. (He just returned home about a month and a half ago from his last deployment and I'd rather hoped to have him home longer.) Prayers for his preparation, protection, and safe return would be greatly appreciated, as always.

(Please consider adding him to your church/email prayer lists, too!)

Father, thank You for returning Harvie's husband home safely four times. Watch over him and return him home safely this time also. Watch over all the service men and women, Father. Be with Harvie, they're family, and all familys as they wait at home for they're loved ones to return home. Thank You Father. In Jesus name. Amen

Loving Father, you are with all of those who put themselves in harm's way for the protection of others. Please, therefore, be with Ron and look after him as he is redeployed to Iraq. Give him the strength and curage to do his duty over there, and the wisdom to do it properly. Protect him physically, emotionally, spiritually, and mentally and guide him home safely to his friends and family at the end of his tour.

Lord, also be with Ron's friends and family, including his wife, "Harvie." Help them so that they do not worry about Ron and remind them that you are with both them and him at all times. Bless them all and keep all of them safe until his return.

We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, the Savior of all Mankind.

Amen.

(and not to ruin the seriousness of this prayer, but may I just say that it was a unique experience for me to pray for someone and say "his wife, HARVIE." I know a number of Harvies at my dad's auction business, and all of them are older men... so this painted a really funny image in my mind. God bless, you, Harvie, and your husband as well.)

Our Father which art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in Heaven, so in earth. Give us day by day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.
