I recently started receiving pages of e-mails (on my work e-mail account not my personal account) from "System Undeliverable." They all feature different types of advertising. I never opened any of them and just deleted them, but the IT guy at work said I'd been spoofed and there was nothing they could do?!? I have a Dell Laptop/wireless with Norton Security. I just did a security scan and just one tracking cookie came up and I fixed that. Does anyone know what I should do now, if anything? Thanks!

Same thing just started happening to me yesterday. We use an outside IT company, because we're a small business, and our IT guy happened to be in for something else. I showed and asked him and he said the exact same thing as your IT person.

I had a similar but more serious situation happen at home. Our IT contractor told me to use either an IP proxy, or a relay system such as TOR to prevent it happening again. I have not had anymore problems, but that could be that no more spoofing / phishing had happened, not that Tor is working.

I am gonna start a new thread on this, however what might be happening is what is called "Backscattering". I will post a link to the new thread once I start it.

The only possible thing to do if you've been spoofed is to have a new IP address issued to you if they are spoofing the IP. If the email address, only a change of email address can help.

I don't think they can spoof the IP, but they can spoof the email address, and that is exactly what appears to be happening. Adding an SPF record to your domain name may help some. http://openspf.org
