Please pray for me..I am at my end right now. I moved from DC because I was in abusive relationship. THis one was verbally, mentally, and physically abusive. God had been telling me for yrs to leave him, yet I would not. It wasnt until circumstances beyond my control forced us to break up. Then I moved to LA, I met an older guy..who seemed to be heaven sent. He took care of me until i found my way. He seemed to be totally opposite of this other guy. But as time moved on..say 2 to 3 yrs..he is almost exactly like him. Not physically abusive. He is very insecure..goes through my things. He has to know my ever step. He is over bearing. Needs me to tell him I love him every minute. He has mental issue from being adopted..he is negative about everything. I mean to sum it up..he is draining me. Physically..emotionally, draining me. I cant go on like this. I need strength to leave. He says things to upset me to get a reaction out of me..then when i react..he says something like "oh really CHristian girl..all this coming from the Christain girl" yet, he claims he believes in God..etc. I know, I know, even the devil believes in God. Its weird. I feel like I keep getting trapped by the same type of man. Why? How do I get myself in these traps? Why is it so hard for me to get out of them? It all changed..once I got a good job, stopped depending on him, and knowing that I can make it on my own. He is 14 yrs older than me.
He talks about getting me pregnant and I know it is to hold on to me. He changed. Or maybe I changed. I dont know. But my heart is breaking because i feel like he is holding me from my destiny. I have no friends anymore. Not one! He consumes all my time. He whines if I go out with friends. He pops up with "business" if I go outta town. My mom and sister come visit..and he so needy with my attention, that he makes it difficult for me to spend time with them.
Please pray for me.
Please. I need help. I am only 26, he is 40. and I still have my life ahead of me. I need strength to move on. Pray for me please.

My heart hurts anytime I hear these kinds of stories. I am so sorry you are going through this. I am praying for you, you deserve so much better and he should be lucky to have such a good person in his life...Honestly, get out now while you can, it will only wear you down and you are the only one in control of your life!! You deserve so much more...

Lord please protect mimi in this situation, please give her the courage, strength and peace
to just walk away from this situation and not look back. Please show her exactly what you
want for her and where you want her, please bring her a Godly christian man to love her
and protect her!

AMEN

Loving Father,

Thank you that mimibrown75 is coming to you for help. Please help her. Help her to see what to do and how to do it. Where to go. Bless her according to your unlimited wisdom and with a close relationship with you. May you take her from abuse and put her into a beautiful situation. In Jesus Christ's name I ask this. Amen.

on and trust in him to get you through this. Open your eyes and ears when he talks to
you, listen and do what he says, he knows what is best for you and where he wants you

Hello Mimi, I'm sorry you have gone thru such a hard time. Many of us here can probably empathize!

Your post doesn't mention if you are married to this 40 yr old guy?

The bottom line must be whether you are in obedience to God or not. The Bible tells us, "Happy is the man (or person!) who hears the word of God and obeys it."

If you are not married, then your first responsibility to God is to remove yourself from an unGodly situation.

As to the getting involved in unhealthy relationships, that could be for any number of reasons. Sometimes women who have been treated poorly by their father figures growing up accept men who also don't treat them well. Or sometimes people don't show their true colours till they have lived with someone a while. In any case, no one is perfect and all relationships will have their challenges.

I encourage you first and foremost to read the word of God and ensure your own life is in line with God's word circumstantially - then seek Him for wisdom and direction for the rest.

Father God, please help Mimi. Please bring Your word to her mind over and over. We ask for healing from all the hurtful things that have happened, even from way back, and we thank You that she is a daughter of the most High King and as such should be treated lovingly and kindly. Please move in her situation to bring change and resolution, that she may have a healthy relationship. We ask in Jesus name
amen

The man sounds like a stalker/control freak. just leave him if your not married. And get a personal protection order. I have been to a safe house for women, the first thing they teach is to get out, get help and get protected. Father God, please protect this woman from domistic violence and abuse. Please help her find the courage and ability to leave this situation. In Jesus' name Amen.

Lord, please help Mimi. Lord give her strenght to get out of this relationship. Lord lead her toward you will for her. Lord if Mimi is not strong enough to get out of this relationship, you have the power to remove him. So if it is not you will Lord, you can fix it. Please fix it, Lord. Lord put your loving arms around her and let her know that she is never alone; you will be with her until she takes her last breath. Lord, show her that you have a man for her but you need to help her work on her and when she is ready, you will bring that man in her life. In Jesus name amen.
