To answer the topic question: absolutely not and I find the idea of "Jesus as friend" to be off base. I know the people who say it mean well but I totally disagree. Friend implies some sort of equality, Jesus is my Savior & Lord, not my friend. I'm not worthy.
BTW: I know he referred to his disciples as "friends" but that is because he chose them to share in his ministry while he was here in the flesh. That is not the case for me and I very highly suspect that is not the case for anyone reading this. And none of them were his "best friend" (as in "Jesus is my best friend" stuff, which is even worse IMHO). The two who tried to be were quickly rebuked.
As far as the song goes, I clicked on the link, heard a few notes, saw a couple of images and my lameness radar went berserk. So I saved myself some misery and ignored it.
