I've only seen one episode, but the one I saw impressed me tremendously. Are you watching the series? What do you think about it? Do you plan to buy the DVDs when they come out?

I kind of wanted to see this, so I might download them. I had a graduate class on his grandson "Henry Adams" who was an author, social critic, and general slacker (with a sense of humor), and they were a fascinating family -which is why I wanted to see it.

I wanted to catch that series. I like History, but I don't get to see as many shows on it. I listened to the author on John Adams. He was fabulous, and I'm glad they put this in a series. I'm wondering if I'll be able to get it on CD because I know I'm not going to get to see the series..missed most of it. "The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want." Psalm 23:1

I had read David McCullough's excellent book the series is based on, and so far the series is an extremely faithful adaptation of it; indeed, in some ways it really brings the characters to life in a way the book couldn't. And Paul Giamatti is perfect for the part of Adams. It may be one of the finest historical television productions I can remember; comprable in many ways to that other fine HBO mini-series a Band of Brothers. Certainly it stands out from the tripe normally found on the tube.
