Do any of you use the Math U See program?

I would like to hear what you guys think of it before we spend the money to purchase. Looks really good to me, but we haven't used it yet.

I have used Math-U-See for all three of my children and love it. It does not go in the same order as what is generally expected for standardized testing, however, so it may appear that your children are behind in math on their tests until they hit high school. It's not that the children are behind really. The program takes a logical order to teaching math. It teaches mastery of each major concept (like addition) before going onto the next concept (like subtraction).

This program helps the student to fully understand the reason for each function. The blocks are very helpful for showing the concept concretely before putting it down on paper.

I have only used one other program with my eldest; Miquon. It was a strange program. After that, we have used Math-U-See. This program is much better than anything I ever did in school.

I love Math U See. We haven't used any other program but it is a very straightforward and logical way of teaching math. Not that it really matters but, I have a degree in math education and it seems very sound and it uses blocks to teach with. Also if you follow the advice of the book and don't move on until your child has mastered the lesson you can't go wrong. Hope this helps!

This is our fist year using Math U See, and we love it!!! It has been an answer to prayers for our son with Down Syndrome. With this math program your child can actually see the math as they learn to do it. It has even helped me to better understand some of the concepts behind math. We are switching all of our childrento this program next year. Yes, it is expensive, but worth every penny.

Math-U-See is not expensive. The manipulatives are an extra expense, but they are not over priced. The first half of the program is only $55 per year for the teacher's manual, video and the student book. The TM and video are not consumable.

I'm not posting this to argue a point, but to clarify, so people will not think it is expensive, when it's not, and thus be afraid to consider it.
