Denis Lamoureux is another of the new breed of evangelicals who is finding that evolution and scripture are not enemies.

He is both a biologist and a theologian with PhDs in both disciplines.

His new book Evolutionary Creation: A Christian Approach to Evolution has just been published.

I think I know this man - he's the one with the arrows sticking out of his front AND back.

Not this one in particular, yet. I have read other articles by Lamoureux. So I have an idea where he is coming from. I'll be checking this one out of the library as soon as they have it in stock.

How long does that normally take for you? I might buy it. If it's not in your library, we can share. Based on the articles you've read, is it likely to be a good read?

I liked one quote on that article:
On the one hand, these anti-evolutionists reject the findings and conclusions of the sciences dealing with origins-cosmology, geology and evolutionary biology. Yet on the other hand, they do not hesitate to support, and even practice, all the modern engineering and medical sciences, accepting research built on the assumption of the robust regularity in nature's processes. Similarly, progressive creationists have a divided vision of science since they affirm the evolution of the inanimate universe as offered by cosmology and geology, but they reject the evolution of life proposed by biological science. Evolutionary creation rejects these artificial and unnecessary divisions in science proposed by the anti-evolutionary positions, and it underlines the coherence and consistency of all the natural sciences.

Reminds me of a joke referenced in Douglas Adams' "The Long Dark Tea Time of the Soul".

A woman comes to an eminent psychologist for help, saying "My husband thinks he's a chicken." The psychologist requests that the wife bring the husband in for examination.

The wife replies, "Well, we would but we need the eggs."
