THE remains of a woman have been found sitting in front of her TV - 42 years after she was reported missing.

Woman sat dead in front of TV for 42 years.

I wonder if the entire check list of places to look for a missing person was forged????

Maybe they had stricter rules for forced entry.

She was a great neighbor. No noisy parties!

But really how can those long time neighbors have written her off so easily? How invisible was this lady before she died to these people?

Also unless she had previously been making statements about moving, I don't understand why anyone would just assume she had moved without ever checking on her.

And those who champion the right to privacy cheered... I hope this doesn't find it's way to CSI... Yuck...

This is a great April Fools story, but it was written in May. TVs need electricity to operate. Where'd her mail go? Her utilities were all shut off yet no one checked the house or pressed delinquent payments? No taxation? Wouldn't any weeds around the house grow up over it and consume the place? Paint peel off the house, stray animals nest around the place? House windows become so dirty there'd be no way to see through them? Oh, sure, some TV show will get ahold of this story and run with it. Think how many hanging advertisements would collect all around your front door in 42 years. No phonebooks? This is a disguised animal foot floating up on the beach to be the sixth human foot. Something just is not right here.

It was an apartment and it was in Croatia. Who knows what's happened since then - soviet control, civil wars, etc.
