This is my first attempt at a NEW post. If this has been done before, SORRY When I was with the Diplomats, me and Corey would sit on the bus and think of the ultimate (whatever) Group, band, concert, etc. It was always fun to see what we would come up with. Me and Scoot will still do that on the bus, on occasion. What would be you're ultimate concert. You can use singers or players who are still with us or gone on to be with the Lord. Well, here goes!! All Night Sing at the Birmingham Jefferson Civic Center Blackwoods and Statesmen would kick it off with 15 minutes together. The Lefeveres would come out and do about 30. Dad Speer would then come out and lead the audience in a couple of old hymns. I would follow that up with A Gaither Vocal Band Reunion, but they can't get to contemporary. lol They would get an hour! Take a break and eat at the Cracker Barrel. (Sorry Scoot) HA! Ha! When we come back, Albert E. B rumley would lead us in a Congregational song or two. Then in 30 minute segments we would have Classic Kingsmen Gold City (Free, Parker, Lefevre, Riley) Cathedrals (Danny, Mark, Geaorge, Glenn, Gerald) Rambos Happy Goodmans and we would end the night with none other than, (You guessed it) THE DIXIE ECHOES!! The Emcee would be Jim Hamill Admission would be FREE!! WOW!! It takes a little thought but it sure is fun! Can you top that? "Can't Wait"!

might not can top but here goes. I would have 5 songs each doing it this way. fans would be randomly chosen as they walked through the door with a group's name on a piece of paper. they would be asked to write one song title down on the paper. before the concert begins the papers would be taken up and the groups are given the song title's chosen. they would also have to write their names on the paper. before each song the group would tell the audience who chose the song and dedicate the song to them. ((( hopefully no one would complain if their favorite wasn't sang)) At the, we will go with same venue, but broadcast into nursing homes and orphanages around the country and also into Churches via sateelite feed((if Church doesn't allow tv then by sound)) ((hey have to let people who can't make it hear this once in a lifetime event)). leading off will be the Blackwood Brothers of old. the very originals. coming up next will have the Lefevre family. then have to have Miss Dottie and the Rambo's followed by Naomi and the Sego's The Hinson's would take the stage next. then a back to back quartet show with Kingsmen of the Ton of Fun days, Gold City with ((Tim/Brian/Ivan/Mike)), Cathedrals ((I really dont have a fave lineup there as I loved everything they ever released equally)), Florida Boys, Dixie Echoes, Inspirations of the Gospel Jubilee days. then will be a testimony time where singers have the chance to really witness or preach however the Lord leads their hearts to go. a short break where people can stretch cause well, I will need to cause if could see this live I seriously think a tornado will be told off if it tried to make me move. coming up next will be a bass singing show with this lineup: London Paris, Tim Riley, George Youne, Mike Holcomb, Billy Todd, Armond Morales, Ray Dean Reese, Rex Nelon, Eric Bennet, and pretty much every bass singer in attendance taking the stage to sing a few songs. then will be all the great tenors of new and old taking the stage. the greatest lead singers of all time. the greatest baritones. ((sorry on lead, tenor and baritone just too may to name and on bass singers know I left many out.)) then will be some time for the ivories to be tickled. the stage would go dark and when the spotlight hits each piano player they would play a few verses of a song before the show begins. can you picture Anthony Burger, Andrew Ishee, Kim Collingsworth, Roger Bennett, Hovie Lister, and others just showing out for as long as they felt like? to close the night would be Dottie Rambo, Pop Speer, James Blackwood, Eva Mae Lefevre, Claude Hopper, Ronnie Hinson, Eldridge Fox, Dale Shelnut, Glen Payne, each singing lead on a song as all the groups sing in the background. of course would be free. might not be the biggest but that is a dream to see in my humble thoughts. this is an idea for a great thread.

Great lineup, Daniel!!! I would probably modify the numbers of songs from a few groups, but I think that lineup is fantastic! I love your song selections for MTT. And I would have to put Mercy's Mark in there, too, with the original and most recent members.

I agree this is a great Lineup but how could you leave out Gold City all together is beyond me. There are enough good groups that I just simply didn't think of everyone.

I haven't replied to this one until now because I had to put some thought into it. Mine would be a three day event and each group would perform for one hour. Day 1: The Cathedral Quartet (Payne, Younce, Webster, Tremble, Cooley) Blackwood Brothers (James, Cecil, Bill Shaw, J.D. Sumner, Wally Varner) Statesmen (Hess, Lister, Chief, Rosie, Doy) Happy Goodmans Kingsmen (1960s era) Dixie Melody Boys (late 1960s, early 1970s era) Then all of the groups would perform together for 30 minutes Day 2: Legacy Five (Bennett, Fowler, Howard, Dustin, Seamans) Kingsmen (1970s era) Greater Vision (current lineup) Cathedrals (Payne, Younce, Trammell, Funderburk, Wolfe) Brian Free and Assurance (with Jeremy Lile) Gold City (1980s era) Again, all of the groups would perform together for 30 minutes Day 3: A Cathedral Quartet Reunion with every member they ever had (3 hour performance) Kingsmen (1980s era) Legacy Five (Fowler, Howard, Dustin, Seamans, Partin) Masters V Dixie Echoes Reunion (2 hour performance) Dueling Pianos with Anthony Burger and Roger Bennett
