This sounds like a notorious catch 22 question. I don't know if I would use the word "proud" - I am happy I know Christ - so happy I share him with others. I am not proud that I am sinful and weak without him (just being really truthful). I am happy about a lot of things he has done. I am defnitely not ashamed of him. Why do you ask?

Good question from maddog4god: Why do you ask? Being a Christian is not like having a badge to wear and being proud of. It's more a way of life - living life as God would want you to. You do that and you'll be a good example for others to follow. It's not easy - but worth it.

I am humbled to be a christian. Didn't deserve it. Can't earn it. Can't keep it by my effort alone.

Pride has 2 face values to it: being proud of your faith or country etc which is fairly positive pride and there is nothing wrong with it whatsoever. On the other side, there is pride as in arrogance when you feel that you're more important or better or more superior than others just because.....even if it's just because you're Christian. This is not just simply negative pride; it's actually sinful! The Bible states very clearly: God resists the proud; but He gives grace to the humble. One of the most detestable personality flaws is arrogance. I try to steer clear of arrogant people.

Pride is a Huge killer and the bible proves it. David acted in pride when God told him not to count the numbers of his army, because of his disobedience and prodding from his troups, 70,000 people died. Adam and Eve acted in pride and *we* all died CRH
