I found this little message written inside a wrapper for a piece of chocolate as an "uplifting message" for the individual eating the chocolate

“Temptation is fun. Giving in is better”

When I read this, what came into mind was that this was such a worldly saying and is the total opposite of what the Bible teaches, and how dangerous it is if someone were to apply this quote in their daily life.

Care to share any other thoughts?

That's exactly what the world is---in opposition to God.

Do not love the world, nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world. And the world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God abides forever. IJohn 2:15-17

That's pretty much my thought on the subject.

I've regretted every bit of fun I've ever had and spanking my brain right now for remembering.

Seriously! A majority of people who have "given in" soon discover the consequences. However, this does not apply to chocolate or coffee which gives life true meaning.

Or anything for that matter.

Temptation is fun...Giving in is better.

There is some truth here. satan cannot entrap people unless there is a grain of truth to catch the eye. Temptation can be fun and giving in can even be better...........for a time.

No one do drugs if they overdosed or killed all their braincells the first time.

Few would have pre-marital sex if it resulted in pregnancies and std's and bad family situations right off the bat.

Ahhh yes...such wisdom. Life is truly meaningless without chocolate or coffee.

I wonder if people actually take heed of these little words of "wisdom" from a chocolate wrapper?

"Take a hayride with your friends"

"Find your passion"

When I see this, it is just a reminder to me, of how the enemy has his nasty fingers in just about every aspect of life.

He is suttle and cunning and very sneaky!

How many teenagers do think have read that little saying?
sad.

Well giving in to temptation and sinning will buy you a ticket to hell on a fast train on a downhill run with no brakes.

Thanks

RCJames,, you are so correct,,, IF
The tempation is to deny Christ as Lord and Savior and you give in to it!!!

1Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God [is] faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear [it].

Even though we are not always faithful,, He is always faithful to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Galatians 4:14 And my temptation which was in my flesh ye despised not, nor rejected; but received me as an angel of God, [even] as Christ Jesus.
James 1:12 Blessed [is] the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

Revelation 3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

God's patience is for the lost in that His will is that all should come to Christ and be saved.
