It does not have to be earth shaking, it can be something that does not mean alot to anyone else, or sometimes others may not notice, while your heart is exploding in joy. I am here to tell you God is kind, and cares for us deeply, the least of these he shows great kindness.
I have a story about a little boy age 9, who is very mentally challenged, and his self worth is shattered because when he went to public school his teachers and peers made him feel like a " monster"
I wrote a few weeks back how we in our nighttime connection groups, do rotation classess for the kids, and the different age groups did Murals the pre-k and KIndergarden, first and second did Jesus entering on a Donkey, plam branches, on a big piece of white paper. The fifth and sixth did the garden through the death . The third and fourth did the resserection, though Jesus acending into the sky, the paper for each subject, or class was divided in about six sections. The kids got to tell the story when we all met back togather in the Big Childrens church room.
We did not get to third and fourth grade mural until last night, The Resserection. This Mural was so hard because the little Mentally challenged boy ate paint, spilled paint, it was hard keeping him on task, but he tried, and there were only three kids who worked on it. When the little boy spilled paint he cried and said " I am a monster", that broke my heart and I told him " No he wasn't" I tried to help him have a different view.
Well last night, he got to hold the banner that turned out wonderful, beautiful, and he helped tell the story. The kids all clapped and complimented the banner. He was so excited he held up his fingers and said "three days," and though his speech is impaired, he eplained it as he could. His face was beaming, and his eyes were so bright, when the other children clapped twice. He felt like he had did something that was great, and it was to him. I almost cried, still do want to cry..
The Lord had put it in my heart to do these murals this last rotation, and simple yes, but sometimes, so is Gods grace that makes you want to soar, because he meets are basic need for love and acceptance, things that sometimes only matter too us. Maybe this thread will not get read, or maybe some will say big deal, but maybe some will be helped and touched by it. Knowing how God is the lifter of our heads, and how much he cares for the "least of these" in their brokeness, just as he does all of his children. He will lift up your head when your down, in different ways. Look for it, in small subtle, and big ways, all are so wonderful. He loves us that is so important for us to know. I hope we can all understand the how high, how wide how great is the love of God, as scripture tells us.

Really enjoyed and appreciated your story!

And, perhaps, we'll even come to the point of understanding WHO the broken one truly is. . . . .

That is a precious, precious story, my dear sister.

It so reveals the tender mercies, love and compassion of our dearest Lord for the "least of these".

For that is where God's heart resides the most, IMHO...with those who believe they are "the monster" whether it be like that young boy, whether it be with the oppressed, depressed, the one struggling with sin, the abused, betrayed, abandoned, rejected....

Many people, even God's people, who have not been set free believe they are "the monster" and are bound in a prison of sorrow, fear, shame, guilt or pain.

It is for such that our great God, our Emmanuel came for....

~I did not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentenance~ He spoke while He was here. Sinners, or "the monsters" see their need of Him - the self-righteous do not.

And it is the one's that see Jesus through the eyes of need, despair, near hopelessness, and grief that understand His heart - His heart that breaks for "the monsters" out there that He can most reach inside of, turn their broken hearts into a heart of compassion, love, mercy and grace like His into, and then reach out to a dark, dying and broken-hearted world to bring those people to Himself and then use them for His glory.

Thank you, so much for sharing that touching story!

I truly appreciate this!

I have spent countless hours studying for a critical test that I took today and I prayed possibly in a way I never have before. I passed! The difficulty for me in studying and taking this test is indescribable.

I asked the Lord to not just give me a passing score by supernatural help but to help me remember what I studied. I knew during the test that He was helping me and I felt Him telling me that it would be alright.

I have been giving Him praise ever since. God is so good!

Yes, he showed that at the cross, for sure. Though as we learn to love one another, he manifest himself in love to us, or we are able to see his love. When we fail thats when we need his grace, and sometimes discipline.
