What's happening to my posts??? - 4/7/2008 9:56:26 AM

I logged on today, only to find that my post count has been drastically reduced from the 3100's to the 2700's. I know that old threads are deleted after one year, but why does my post count keep changing? I think that my post count shouldn't decrease, but should increase as I continue to post in these uplifting and inspiring forums.

They will increase if you increase the amount of posts you make over the same day a year ago.
So if last year on this day you made 50 posts today you'd need to make 60 posts.
If you made only 30 posts today it would show a decrease in the number of posts.

So your post count will decrease if you don't post more than the previous day? Isn't that kind of ridiculous?

your post count will decrease if you don't post as much as you did last year on that day....not yesterday and how much you posted then. It's because of the old threads (and thus old posts) being deleted after a year of not being posted in.

Does your post count go down if you post in a thread that has been removed from the boards? (Like a thread that may have had tons of TOS violations in it.)

Threads are purged daily. Every thread that was posted one year ago tomorrow will be purged tonight, so there will only be one year's worth of posts at any given time. If you didn't have any posts in the day that is being purged, it will not impact your post count. If you had posts that day, all the posts you made on the day that is being purged will be removed and your post count will decrease by the number of posts that were purged. If you make more posts, those posts will be added to your post count.
