Before reality hit, and you were very very young, how old had you hoped you would be when you married? I had hoped to be 20. Ha, Ha, I'm now 36 and single. If you are divorced/widowed, you can say how old you were when you married.

I never hoped to marry at any age.

I never had an age either, especially since I've never had the desire to have children - it didn't matter to me. I knew I had to get through school first. So maybe, if I had to give an age to where I was freaking out because I wasn't married, it'd be 25.

I definitely didn't think I'd be approaching 28 and still very single.

I had hoped to be married between 30 and 32. The way I had it figured, that would give me enough time to complete my education and get established in a career.

I never had an expectation to be married by a certain age. I got married at 26, but probably should have waited longer ... people are still going through a lot of personal growth throughout their 20's.

I got married at around the age I had anticipated (27) but I unfortunately did not have a good sense of who I was and what I needed in a relationship at that time. My low self esteem (at the time) caused me to settle on someone that wasn't right for me and that ended up causing so many problems for both of us down the line when maturity set in. I had a lot of misconceptions about what the married life would be like.

Well, when I was young I was preoccupied with my schooling and career plans. (At most I thought having a girlfriend would be nice, but put no effort in that direction.) When all that shall we say, "imploded", I found myself very depressed and very alone. Been a long, slow rebuilding process. A career is nice, but it is no substitute for human contact. There's a reason God made Eve. Now, I'd have to say I hope to find a wife to share life with "soon" - I mean, I probably only have 25-30 good years left, tops. (If the Lord doesn't return before then, that is.) Of course, I have to wait for God's perfect timing, but at least now I'm making an effort (however small). -Robb

Being the ever so organized Virgo that I am, I had a plan to graduate college at 22, get married at 23 and have my first child at 25. Well, in two months I will be celebrating my 27th bday and I am still single and still in college!! Man life sure threw a curveball! I am thankful that I didn't get married at 23 though! I have learned and grown so much since then!

I was determined to never get married. I was having fun and saw no need to ever change that. Then I met M. She dragged me to church and gave me a bible and I eventually got saved. Prior to that happening however I started to look at her and realized I didn't want to be without her. Ever. We were married when I was 26. Now I'm waiting for God to bring the perfect woman for me to me. I know that He will.

I never really had a certain age in mind but I know if I had known 10 years ago I would still be single at 29, I would have thought its the end of the world! Thank God, he knew best!!

I am not sure what I had hoped for as far as a date to be married... Probably early 20's. I was married at 26 and looking back, that was in my opinion, too young. You think you are all grown up at that point but really you are not. I am now divorced and 37 and I think that now I would choose better. I had my kids at age 27 and at that time I did not want more and was just horrified at what having kids did to my body. Now, I want more, and how your body changes to me, is now beautiful and worth it!

you were very very young Hmmm... going by this... When I was about 9, I can remember talking about getting married and having children with some friends. I don't know how old I wanted to be when I married, but I did say that I wanted to have 3 children and be married for 2 years before I had any and to have had them all before I was 30. Not sure why I felt that way, just did. As I've gotten older, I'm glad that it never happened. I'm not much bothered if I never get married but it's not something I'd run from.

I wanted to be married by 17, 19 at the oldest. Got married when I was 21, after that figured I'd never marry again; now not sure, before 30 would be nice.

I suppose I expected to marry sometime in my 20s. I've been 39 for slightly over five years now.
