Did she keep it in a jar, in her purse, or in a napkin (Luke 19:20)?

Do you remember sandwiches for school lunches or picnics wrapped in waxed paper?

She had a mason jar on top of the refrigerator.

Yes, I remember wax paper wrapping my peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Granny didn't sell her eggs--she ate them (well, the whole family did)

My Grandmother used all of her eggs everyday by baking the best cookies & cake ever. Sometimes we would even get one fried for breakfast, but not very often.

Yes I dod remember the wax paper being used to wrap sandwiches that I had in my school lunch.

My grandma in MO kept her egg money buried in the flour box.

My granny in FL kept her crabbing and orange money in a tin can above the washing machine.

I remember taking sandwiches to lunch at school with a thermos of soup or fruit and an apple/orange.

I always thought sandwiches wrapped in wax paper were special and tasted much better than the plastic wrapped ones.

Tied up in a handkerchief in her apron pocket.

Wax paper - luxury. We used old Sears and Roebuck catalogs.

My Grandma used to put her egg money in a tin can and put that tin can under her pillow when she goes to bed.
My Mom's Aunt used to put it in a hanky and tucked and pinned inside her bra.

Hey, that's interesting (all the answers)!

That's interesting. I think waxed paper lets sandwiches get kind of stale. My mother gave me money for milk; I never had a thermos. And she always used white bread for my sandwiches. I hardly ever buy white bread these days. I usually buy it for specific recipes like bread pudding or strata (which I rarely make).
