The Vineyard

Isha gazed up at the grapevines overhanging the arbor. The vines were so numerous and covered with grapes that she couldn’t see the sky beyond. Greenery and dew sparkled in the light of Yeshua’s countenance as they stood beneath the wooden structure. Isha knelt in adoration at his feet and kissed the hem of his robe. The same deep purple lining the roof of the arbor in a multitude of grapes was also found in Yeshua’s robe. There too was a detailed pattern of grapevines throughout His garment.

“Look here and beyond.” Yeshua noted solemnly. “I have brought you to the King’s vineyard.”

Stretched out over the rolling green hills were rows and rows of cultivated grapes hanging in numerous arbors. The hills in the distance looked more purple than green.

Isha marveled at the vast and beautiful countryside and the fragrance assailing her senses. “Is this YOUR vineyard, my King?” she asked incredulously.

“Beloved, it is.” replied Yeshua with a gentle touch to her upturned face. Isha noticed for the first time the wreath of grapevines around his head. At once the scripture ignited her heart with joy.

“I am the Vine. You are the branches.” She said aloud.

Yeshua offered his hand. “I am the Vine.” He said assisting her with a smile. From his bosom he brought a wine colored mantle and draped it over her shoulders. The material lay silken against her skin and a perfect match to his own robe.

“Now please come and walk with me through the vineyard.” Messiah invited.

Together they walked barefoot over the soft earth. Yeshua bent and lifted a handful of sod. “You see Isha,” he exclaimed. “It is how it should be, soft and pliable in my hands.

Here…touch.” Isha ventured to pinch the earth between her fingers. “Yes. I believe it is just right.” agreed Bride. Yeshua and Isha watched the soil slip through her grasp.

Bride drew her mantle around her smiling at the Savior. “Thank you for the beautiful garment my Lord.” She said.

“My King?”

He lowered his gaze as she arose to stand at his side. “Yes?”

“You have given me many special gifts. Each one I treasure in my heart.” Bride enclosed her bosom protectively. “But what about the gifts I have given you, the wreath of flowers among other things…”

His smile grew even wider. “I am the same as you are.” He replied. “I keep all your gifts in a secret place.”

Bride was radiant, “Truly my Yeshi?” She cried.

Yeshua laughed, “Yes, truly!” He searched her face, “would you like to see where I keep them?”

Bride pressed forward grasping his hand. She nearly sang, “Oh yes, yes, yes!”

The Savior held back his eager Bride. “Dear love.” He said. “I have yet to add another gift to your collection of presents before I can take you there.”

She looked inquisitively at him.

He spread his arms wide. Joy burst upon his features like the burst of sun ray. “This vineyard is my gift to you.” Yeshua proclaimed.

His hand opened to reveal his palm with the wound purple and deep at the center. There was a mixture of elation and tears in his voice. “My wounds are vineyards for you beloved.”

Bride cradled his hand within her own.

“Such comfort this wound has brought me.” She whispered. “Oh it has been a cure for my own wounds.” Her eyes searched his. “Yet here you remain still wounded while I am offered the beauty of the vineyard. Yeshua! What can I give you in return?”

“Acceptance.” replied the Messiah. “I remember when you were but a young girl lost in the labyrinth of your own search for pure love and truth.” He smiled gently. “I pursued you until your weariness gave way to my embrace.”

Bride shook her head sadly. “I do remember the days of my searching. Dark days they were, hopeless and full of fear. Now they seem so distant to me as though the person who experienced them was someone else and not me, and you, my Yeshua, you never gave up.”

Isha kissed his hand devotedly. “I do accept this gift.” She said.

Yeshua appeared pleased. Standing beneath the grape arbor a glorious back drop of shimmering leaves and dew laden grapes wedded his person and spoke wordlessly of the natural and the spiritual, the goodness of the moist dark earth, the deep purple and the sun luscious rays drenching the enclosure.

As Isha cradled his hand she caressed his wound gently. The Savior responded with a touch to her sensitive fingers. which trembled as though fire had touched them.

“Remember I told you I was saving the best drink?” he asked.

Isha nodded. Now, not only her fingers trembled but her heart in anticipation.

To be continued...

Your heart speaks well of our Risen King.
The well kept armour of your love for Him
Shines forth in its submission to the tune
He plays upon the instrument of you…
And it blesses others.

Thank you, dear sister, for another beautiful display of the exquisite character of Yeshua, our Beloved. I look forward to more!

O my gosh...I so appreciate your beautiful, poetic words of encouragement. How I needed to hear them tonight. Thanks so much! Here's some more of the story...

The Messiah lifted his hands. “Here are my wounds, here in my hands…” He lifted the hem of his robe revealing his feet, “And dug in my feet.” He opened his robe exposing a deep red gash under the left breast, “My heart wounded and broken by a soldiers lance.”

His great dark eyes pooled with tears. “Once there was a mixture in my wounds…sorrow and joy, loveliness and pain.”

When Yeshua beheld the wonder in the eyes of Isha he explained further:
“The pain of my death, the rejection of so many even though I had died for them… surely you can understand that the memory of my crucifixion was hurtful. Which pain was greater, that of the nails piercing my flesh or the hard hearts of multitudes heedless of my mercy?”

Isha studied his face. Her heart nearly shattered with grief. “Both must be very painful, my Lord.” She said thickly and wiped a tear from her cheek.

Despite his tears Yeshua smiled. “But now when you taste of my wounds you will find no sorrow in them. ‘The blessing of the Lord He maketh rich and He added no sorrow to it.’
My joy is complete because the fullness of my Bride has come. You are here with me. My suffering is over. You will taste only loveliness and joy!”

“What is this loveliness?” questioned Isha. She couldn’t help but smile.

“Utter loveliness!” exclaimed the Messiah. “I am able to do what every good parent longs to do and what true lovers yearn for… feed, nourish, comfort, and cherish ~all these qualities you will find in my wounds.”

“I have tasted this wine even before I came to the New Jerusalem.” Isha said.

“Tasted my wounds, yes…in your earthly life.” replied Yeshua “Tasted through faith and saw with the eyes of your soul. Now you can see plainly how vast these vineyards are!”

Bride flung her arms wide. “Vineyards so vast and rich, how will I ever drink of such loveliness and do anything but live in highest ecstasy?”
Isha laughed as did Yeshua.

Isha knew by gazing into his eyes that in this ecstatic place he would be all her desire. Worship would be the expression of a soul abandoned to the riches of Yeshua’s love. Again Bride looked closely at the hand she cradled. She could see how deep the wound truly was and that if she dared she could pass her finger right through. Although it was purple and red like a rose a wonderful light exuded from the wound. How could something intended to be so hurtful and ugly, a spike driven into his palm, appear to be so beautiful? Why his wounds were tokens of his love, precious jewels, bold displays of his compassion, Bride dared approach her lips to his sacred wound.

The wounds of Messiah opened and expanded engulfing Bride in colors of purple and red. Swirls of golden light suddenly shot up from their crimson centers encasing her and forming a single column extending to the sky. Isha inhaled a fusion of tenderness, mercy, compassion, strength together with the fragrances of countless flowers. Within the enclosure swam tiny stars like so many diamonds lighting her fingers and toes, hair and hands while she exhaled adoration back to the Savior.

to be continued...

Whoa, that was poignant and heart wrenching, I am so moved as I always am by your words, I don't know how you express what you do or where it stems from but if it is anything like the words you've painted than I am awed by your faith. Your stories are wonderfully inspirational and heartening I hope to see a book full of them soon so that more people can benefit and heal and grow in the light your writing casts.

It has been awhile, a little too long lol, reading your post was so refreshing to my spirit it's the kind of thing that can pull a heart away from the darkness life ensnares us with and encourage our thoughts to thoughts of God instead of man. And that right there is priceless.

*shrugs* To each his own I suppose, you've gotta know that different people take things different ways Kisstheson, not everyone will be as moved as I was or as annoyed as they were. You can't get discouraged by one person's cruel words or condemnation although every criticism should be taken with a grain of salt, you must know that out there somewhere someone will benefit from your writing when you feel spirit led to write what's on your heart.

If they were attacking you it was either because they felt offended by your writing and the implications of it or they misunderstood it or they were struck in the heart by God. Either way it affected them somehow, someway. Sometimes people lash out at other people when they get hurt you may not know it but this may continue to bug them until they work it out in their hearts, maybe what you wrote carried such a powerful message that they were shocked. Or maybe they put God into a little box and your liberty with Jesus astounded them. You don't know how God will use your writing in other people's lives but he does, you may have done them good despite their adamant denial.

Again I really, really appreciate your insight and and thoughtful words. They give me a lot of courage.

So here's a little more of my story...

Chapter 5

The Lady of Scents

“Peace to you my dear lady.” said the sweet, kindly voice. Her tone sounded something like the strumming of harp strings.

Isha gazed up into a face as smooth and as white as alabaster. The head was crowned with hair thick like a black tapestry, in parts woven with tiny braids and white flowers. Other parts were loose and flowing, caressing the full length of her body. Over her slender form she wore a white garment that moved with each breath of wind, but most impressive of all were here eyes, large and dark, lively and lit with merriment.

Her full red lips turned upward when she saw bride’s astonished look.

Isha was astonished for two reasons: First because Yeshua was no where in sight, second because of this woman’s incredible beauty. Bride knew that the lady must be greatly loved by the Lord. Only one who loved Yeshua and was so favored by him would appear in such pristine loveliness.

Along with the coming of the lady was a wonderful fragrance that filled not only isha’s nostrils but invaded her entirely. Isha had smelled the perfume before but what was the scent called?

A little blush stole the woman’s features. “My Lord’s beloved…” she said stretching out her hand. “My King and your King has left you in my charge. I am to lead you to his garden. He has asked that I tell you my story. I have much to share with you.” She bowed deep to bride. “I am the lady of scents.”

Isha smiled and grasped the hand offered to her. “My Lord has sent you?” she stood and found the lady to be a little taller than isha’s own height.

Holding unto her hand bride felt the lady was a dear friend, yet stepping closer she read an aged wisdom that lay deep within that shining gaze. A sense likened to awe nearly caused Isha to step back and let go of her hand. At the same time Bride wondered why she felt she had always known this woman.

“You must know…” the lady laughed gently. “He has called you by this name many times.”

Isha thought and suddenly knew… “Miriam!” she gasped. “Miriam of Magdala! Mary! Mary Magdalene!” her eyes widened. “Oh it cannot be you!”

Still smiling Miriam said, “I am the very one.”

She kissed both of Isha’s hands. Poor Bride almost fell to her knees.

“Oh no my dear one, you mustn’t do that!” Miriam objected playfully. “We are both sisters and brides of the Lamb. Yeshua is our Bridegroom and our own brother!”

Take the respite where you can and go back and tweak it around, reread it and smooth out the dialogue and descriptions and make it flow better. If you start back at the beginning by the time you get to the end again you'll have recaptured your train of thought. That's what I always do when I get stuck, read it as if you were seeing if for the first time.

Kisstheson,
I want to let you know that I’m really enjoying your writings, as well as the dialogue between you and Novalist. Some very true, encouraging words from he/she, for certain. Take heart, rest lovingly in the shelter of the Almighty, and by all means keep writing.

The Lady of Scents:
Oh, the lovely, utter mystery! “Yeshua is our Bridegroom and our own brother!” You, Kisstheson, being a woman, write in such a special, glorious fashion. I, being a man, can still comprehend and bask in the epicene beauty of your words. They make my heart leap in joy as I sense the reality of the mystery you pen. And yet, there is this from my perspective: “Yeshua, my own brother and gender (as He came and dwelt on earth) is also my Bridegroom!” Is it any wonder the world thinks we are nuts? [:-)
All glory, honour, praise and thanksgiving are due to our King forever.
May Father bless you and free your heart and mind to be the wide channel of blessing to others that He has ordained.

Novi I appreciate your suggestions. What I think I'll do is post more of this story here. I'll actually be going backwards in the story. the story is quite old actually. Probably about five years old so I would really have to be inspired to pick it up again. I do want to finish it though.

hvt,
I love meeting brothers that can appreciate christ as the Bridegroom. Of course there is a long line of brothers throughout the centuries that have seen their brother Jesus in that light, Samuel Rutherford, John of the Cross to name a few.

Thanks so much for the kind words of encouragement. This week has been hard for me because i think some of my art and poetry that I posted elsewhere was a little too much for some to chew on. It hurts to be misundertood. You can imagine how grateful I am to find such gracious comments from you and Novi. :)

So I'll post more of Isha's Dream later. Thanks again for reading.

The Messiah's Cloak...

She could not help but kneel at his feet. The thought of the heavenly court, beholding the great and glorious Godhead, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, was beyond anything she could imagine. Isha suddenly felt small and unworthy and wanted to hide.

At once colors of purple and red fell around Bride covering her in a soft, thick, rich embrace.
“There it is.” The Messiah announced. “The cloak I covered you with the day you became mine.”
Isha wrapped the cloak around her with humble gratitude

Yeshua spoke. “Yes, I covered you in the coat of my blood and passion. Purple is the color my enemies mocked me with. Yet this is no mockers garment. It is the royal sign that you belong to me, the Son of David. All I have purchased for you through my sacrifice has become yours. I am your holiness, wisdom, righteousness…
“You are everything to me.” Bride murmured kissing the cloak and pressing her cheek against it.
Bending towards her, Yeshua encircled her with his arms and whispered a blessing:
.
“Here is my companion, her soul like whitest snow.
A garden of virtues where the sweetest flowers grow
She is my delight, my rose bloom at my side
Fair, none can compare to my beautiful Bride.”

His words were dear to her. For a long while she pondered them wanting to store his blessing like a treasure in her heart.

Isha looked up through her tears. “My Yeshi…” She stopped her mouth with her hand.

Yeshua brightened. “What is it my Shelee?” he asked. “You must know I love when you call me “Yeshi’! That is the special name you called me before you came to live with me here in the New Jerusalem. Can you not feel my pleasure in you heart?”

Brides astonishment quickly turned into cheerfulness as her Lord cried out: “Yeshi! Yeshi! Yeshi! Please, say it again Isha and satisfy me!”
She spoke the name but once. He grabbed his bosom with a sigh and said, “ah…like a sweet arrow of love right through my heart…”

Isha shook her head. “Oh you make me laugh, my Yeshi.”

He smiled. “Well, you could not be sad…”

She laughed again. “I am not sad.”

“There is no sadness in my Kingdom. Not even a speck.” laughed Yeshua.

“Only grateful tears,” Isha exclaimed happily.

Yeshua held up his hand. “You haven’t finished looking at my cloak.” He said. “Open it up.”

Isha unwrapped the cloak and gasped in surprise. There, embroidered in every color, in colors she had known and colors that she was seeing for the first were all the titles and names of her King.

“Good Shepherd.
“Light of the World,
“Prince of Peace”
Resurrection and the Life
Way, the Truth and the Life…”

Bride traced the names with her finger and read some of the titles on the inside of her cloak.
Yeshua leaned close. “Beloved…Bridegroom…” He chimed in.

A blush stole across her face. “Rose of Sharon…”

The Savior lifted her to his side. He had been kneeling with her while she read the names. Once again he tenerderly enclosed her in the purple and red cloak.

“My Titles have always been there, Isha, inside the cloak I gave you when you were but a young girl. You wore them close to you heart. Now you can see and touch what you couldn’t see on the other side of the veil.”

Her eyes overflowed. She sobbed on her Bridegrooms heart.

“You see.” said Yeshua, “You need not feel unworthy for you have the cloak of the King.”

Reaching into his bosom he drew forth a golden clasp shaped like a rose. . Yeshua fastened the cloak at her neck with the clasp. He stood away for a moment and surveyed her. Quickly he returned, gathering her in his arms. Brides’ image mirrored in his eyes was beautiful. Yeshua knew she was really seeing herself for the first time, her true image, the holy Bride of Messiah. His breath escaped, scarcely breathed against a lock of her golden hair flowing between his fingers. He, the great God Almighty, the second Person of the Trinity could only whisper her name…the secret name by which he had bound her to himself.

To be continued...

Sister, it is a pleasure to me to encourage you. Your writings touch my heart in a deep way. Such intimate depth. My heart jumps and wants to shout, "Yes, this is what Yeshua wants to give to all who He has called into fellowship with Himself."
I've seen you get beat up pretty bad here simply because there are some who cannot attest to experiencing what you write about. 'There's no room for the deeply intimate. It's soulish.' Poor souls!
I'm looking forward to more.
He has blessed you with a unique gift. I'm confident that many appreciate who do not comment.
May His great shalom rest on you.

Well hvt to tell you the truth it gets pretty scary sometimes. The "naysayers" really had me on the chopping block this week. That's why I breathe a big sigh of relieve when I read your encouraging words. I think its worth risking being misunderstood for the few that Jesus might want to touch through waht he's given me.

So please know its great to get a hug from someone who understands. :)

here's some more of th estory...

The flowers grew lush at the feet of Yeshua where Bride knelt in thanksgiving to her Savior. That very moment she remembered the wreath she had promised him and began to gather blossoms ~ powder blue, yellow and red, using her cloak as an apron.
“I am gathering flowers for my Yeshua!” Isha sang.
His eyes widened, “you are making my wreath?” He asked.
“I am…” she exclaimed happily and then ran partly down the hill and picked more flowers. Yeshua laughed to see her apron expanding with so many flowers. She returned breathlessly to his side.
“I am only going to use the most beautiful.” She exclaimed. Surprisingly, a look of disappointment clouded her face. “Oh, but they are ALL beautiful How shall I pick just a few for so beautiful a Bridegroom?”

Isha opened her cloak spilling the flowers on the grass. Trying to hide her creation from Yeshua’s curious gaze she wove her bouquet into a wreath. With a finishing sigh, she presented her offering. Yeshua’s face lit up with appreciation. Pastel colors interwoven with vibrant red blossoms and leafy stems graced his waiting hands.

Isha shook her head. “It is not nearly as lovely as you, my Lord.” She smiled a weak smile. “I promised you purple roses but I could not find them anywhere.”
“You could not find them? But there are purple roses here.” Yeshua insisted.
How could Isha refute her Lord? She HAD looked and there were absolutely no roses. Her eyes found the distant hills. She could not face the Messiah.
Yeshua touched her cheek. “My beloved.” He said. “Here they are. Your dress is full of purple roses.”
“My dress?”
Then she realized. Yes. Her lavender garment had roses throughout, but how could she place those roses in the wreath? She moved her hand over the garment and ~ there! One of the roses appeared right in her hand! The rose had transferred from her dress to her hand! Yeshua watched amused. Excitedly Bride “picked” another rose and yet another. She placed the beautiful plum colored roses throughout the wreath. Isha needed but a golden ribbon to twine around the flower crown. From her hair came the ribbon, with one touch. She thought of adding a crimson ribbon. With a gasp of surprise Isha watched the ribbon float from her lips. The rich color of the roses and the ribbons enhanced the beauty of the wreath.

Certain of the beauty of the wreath she approached Yeshua.( Isha couldn’t bare the thought of giving him something less than absolutely lovely.) He lowered his head.
“I crown you the Flower King.” She proclaimed and adorned his hair with the circle of flowers. Even as the wreath came lightly down on Yeshua’s head, his eyes overflowed with tears. Bride could not decide which was more striking, the contrast of the plumb roses and colorful flowers against his black locks or the bright tears dripping down his cheeks, jewelling His long eyelashes, simple things, but she scarce could remain standing. She was nearly in a faint.

“Yeshua…My adorable Yeshua,” she managed to say. “Why are you crying?”

The Beloved tried to speak but his tears came harder and faster. He looked skyward, breathed deeply and then returned her gaze. “I am grateful.” He said, a smile trembling on his lips. Without a thought for herself Isha gathered him into her arms. “Precious…Precious…” she cried softy. His body shook with each sob.
Yeshua struggled with every word. “My Father gave me a promise. He said that I would live to see the fruit of the travail of my soul and be satisfied. Look how he has rewarded me!”( Isha felt the strength of his embrace.) ‘Where once I was despised and rejected and endured the pain of the crown of thorns now my head has been beautified and comforted by your sweet flowers of love.” Closing his eyes, resting his head on her shoulder he gave himself to her love.

To be continued...
