Yuck... I woke up this morning with a neck ache. This is no fun. I plan to go to the chiro in about half an hour when they reopen from lunch.

Well, I went to the chiro, took some Advil and drank some Pepsi, and then iced my neck for a long time. My neck seems to be getting better, but maybe it is just numb right now from all the ice. I so wish I wouldn't have slept so long today so I could take a nap.

My work called today and asked if for the next two days I could work 4:30 PM - 1 AM instead of my normal 3:30 PM to 12 AM. I said no. I used to work til 1 AM and that last hour was supreme torture. Is it bad that I said no? She sounded kind of annoyed. I have never turned her down before though.

Do you think my arm is doing OK if the red circle is slowly fading out? The bump still looks the same.

Catherine, I can sympathise with your neck pain. I've had that problem for days now. I'm looking forward to when it stops.

A quick update: I heard from my new landlord again. She's been emailing back and forth a bit, making plans to come see the house. She lives in NY, and will be there for about another week. The she'll come out here for a couple weeks and do business stuff, (the house, and probably other aspects of her father's estate), and the memorial service.

She's scheduled to come see the house Aug 5th, do a walk through, figure out what kinds of things need to be repaired or watched ... just get an idea of the place. And she'll reimburse for money I've spent on some plumbing things.

So things seem to be moving along nicely. She can't find her dad's copy of the lease, so I will make a copy of mine for her.

Apparently the universe does not like me this week.

- Monday I get a cat wound I worry about being infected
- Wednesday I wake up with a bad neck ache
- now today is Thursday and I have a cold

You know what is interesting? Yesterday my chiropractor asked me if I had a fever. I didn't think I did. I thought about taking my temp when I got home but never did.

When I woke up today I figured it was probably just allergies, but the allergy medicine that normally works great for me did nada. My nose just keeps running and I have gone through a whole box of tissues already. If I would have known I was not going to get any better and just keep feeling more blah I would have used some of my sick time today. Blah.

Have a great time Christine. Wish I was going to Michigan. A co-worker and his wife just went to Mackinac Island a week ago.

Hope you have a great trip, Christine. I think you made the right decision to go to Michigan in the summer rather than the winter.

~~~~~~~~~
Thanks for praying for me. My nose stopped running at the end of yesterday, and I am still better today. Huh. I wonder what sort of thing I had that only lasted twelve hours?
Well, whatever it was, I am glad the sneezing and nose issues have stopped.
Today though under my ears behind my jaw is really sore. Ick.
Someone at work has been stealing stuff from the fridge. I had some of the bottled Starbucks drinks in there and someone took one today before I got to work. Someone else got their entire lunch stolen today. Last week someone stold an unopeneded can of soda from me, and a few months ago someone stold a different Starbucks drink from me. Arg. People will be fired if they are caught stealing lunches, but the thing is I do not know who did it to me.
Yesterday at work went pretty fast because I was occupied all day blowing my nose. Today is a lot slower. I hate it when we get to the point that I keep looking over at my phone to make sure I am in.
that's rotten of people to takethings like that. I wonder if you could put some identifying mark on your stuff to make it easier to catch the thief.
or make laxative brownies and they will learn their lesson.
I hate people stealing food at work, it's petty. If you ASKED me for something I would probably say yes unless it left me starving. geesh.
I actually did use a Sharpie to write my name several times on each bottle. But it happened before I got here so I don't know who it was.
Some other people suggested spiking stuff to get people to not eat it.
There is an episode of the show "Friends" where Ross gets mad about someone stealing his sandwich from the work fridge, so the next day he put a note on his sandwich so mean that they sent him for counseling. Ha.
It's really sad that that kind of stuff goes on. It seems to happen where I work when we have hired temporary people for our bindery from an agency.
If I have a few things I want to remain cool or cold, I have one of those picnic freezer things that I lay on top of my salad or what ever in just a plastic bag and keep it at my desk. If I want a really cold soda I get it from the vending machine.
Glad your "cold" didn't last long Catherine. I agree that it sounds more like some kind of allergy.
Hi Maggie, Kath and Brandy and Trish
I am going back to the dentist on Tuesday to get my last two fillings. I am quite nervous about this. I am pretty sure the back of my mouth still hurts from last time. My coworker said to me, "You are a wimp." I don't know why going to the dentist after I was just there makes me so nervous. I did survive last time. I just hope that after this I do not need any more dental work (sans wisdom tooth removal and missing molar implant) for the rest of my life.
Today the new lady who works at my chiropractor's office called me and said, "I am going to schedule you an appointment for August 8 and I was wondering what time you prefer?" Uhm, what? I never asked them to call me for follow up appointments. I have been going there for over two years now... much of that time without scheduling appointments... what makes them think I am going to stop going when they automatically charge me every month for my visits? Matt said that chiropractic care gets bumped off people's priority list when they are struggling with the economy and thus they probably have less business. But still. Gur. Leave me alone!
If she's new, it's probably just something they are having her do to follow up with people. It's a bit strange how she asked though. She said it as a statement... "I am going to schedule" instead of something like... "I see you were here on (insert date), would you like to make a follow up appointment. I have an opening on the 8th, would that work for you?" Or something more along those lines.
All the ladies where I go know I call as I need and that's fine with them. They still always ask when I'm leaving if I need to make an appointment.
I think they are a real blessing as I can pretty much get in on really short notice.
On the dentist thing Catherine. When you go to the dentist LET THEM KNOW about the discomfort you had/have with the back of your jaw from the last visit. There very well may be something they can do different so that won't be inflamed. Do some deep relaxation breathing before you actually get in the chair too. Your anxiety adds to the muscle tenseness too.
(((((Catherine))))) I will send a prayer that it will go better this time.
Wow, somebody stealing food and drinks at work. Makes you wonder why they're doing it. No money or too lazy to get themselves something.
