Here is a little poem I wrote right before Easter. I hope it is alright, moderator for me to submit this. I normally won't submit things like this here. My heart is coming back to Him now. He is sooooooooooo good, patient and kind with me!!!

Most Treasured Love

My heart has wandered from Thee,
O, Spirit of God, come, set me free.
Restore unto me a pure love,
O, come, gentle Dove!

It is Thee I desire to seek,
For all of my days.
O, Dearest Jesus,
To know more of Thy ways.

Bring me back to gaze on Thy Face,
Help me behold Thy mercy and grace.
Sweet Jesus it is You alone I desire,
Send forth Thy love as consuming fire.

For you are beautiful, most treasured Love,
Father, Son and Holy Dove.
Let my life be simply for Thee
For me You died on Calvary’s Tree.

You Alone, Jesus
Part II
Consider Jesus

You alone, dear Jesus are "El Shaddai", the strong Almighty God. You are our Nourisher, and our Strength Giver. You satisfy us because You pour Yourself into your people's lives. Because You pour Yourself into our lives, You quiet us and give us rest. We need have no desires apart from You.

You alone are our strength and song. You part the waters for us as you say to us "When you pass through the waters I will be with you and the waters shall not overflow you." You set our feet upon solid ground and the enemy who pursues us drowns while seeking to destroy us. You bring us safely through the frightening times; our Victory You are. We have seen you raise people from the dead. Oh, Jesus, You were the first raised from the dead we saw with the eyes of faith. You are alive, our God and because You live we shall also live and never die! You are our Song, because the more we learn what you are like and how You love us, our hearts cannot help but sing! The joy of knowing You is without comparison.

You are our perpetual Light, precious God. You say, "I am the light of life, he who follows me shall not walk in darkness". How great is the darkness that covers the earth, but You, light our way through the darkness and You are leading us to that Heavenly Home where no darkness dwells! To spend eternity with You, our Sun of Righteousness is to spend eternity in absolute bliss. No darkness dwells in You for You are perfectly Holy, Pure and Harmless. How great is the thought to spend eternity in everlasting safety in a land where "nothing hurts or destroys"!

You alone, Jesus, are our Healer. You make Your people whole. Often we have been ravished with sin, whether from others or ourselves. Our hurts have been very deep, but not so deep as to prevent You from coming and binding us up. Broken people we have been. Shattered lives, You put back together. You take the shattering of our lives and shine Your greatest light through cracks in our vessels that have been healed. The light of Your love and compassion shine greatest through the broken areas of our lives. We thank You, oh God that You turn everything to our good, even the hurt and pain.

You, Jesus are our great Lover! As we go on in years walking with You, we know that You are the greatest Lover that walked this earth! Sinners flocked to You, the sick were healed by You, the broken cried out to You and You never turn away a soul that calls out to You in need. Everlasting kindness will be our portion in You. Oh, Jesus, how we long for Your love! For those of us who have known the passion of Your love, we know that we would be willing to die to experience Your love throughout eternity! Your love for us is beyond description. To spend eternity with such Love is beyond imagination. But even beyond imagination Your love will take us because we know that forever we will spend eternity with You!

~Oh, for a thousand tongues to sing, my great Redeemer's praise! ~

Beloved,

What can I add to this breathtaking devotion? You have painted an awesome picture of He Who is so many things to all of us. There is no one like Him. I loved this!

My Redeemer Crowns Me!

~Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies~

Such contrasts as can hardly be conceived by mortal man have we here in this psalm of King David.

He speaks of our great Kinsman-Redeemer, Who is the Lord Jesus Christ. He speaks of the transformation that takes place in the lives of those who were heading for destruction, but now have turned to God. They are now crowned with loving-kindness and tender mercies. T he price for such goodness to occur in the lives of those who now belong to God was the brutal suffering, death and shedding of innocent blood of our Redeemer, our Jesus.

Our beloved Jesus lovingly drew us to Himself from lives that were headed for certain destruction. Our eyes were blinded to the destruction that we were headed towards. Without Jesus buying us back we would continue to destroy ourselves or those around us. Oh, Lord, open our eyes to show us the terrifying end to a life apart from You! For a life apart from God is nothing less than hopelessness and desolation.

But there is One, the beautiful Jesus, who will not allow our lives to be destroyed when we allow Him access into our lives.

And what does this lovely Redeemer do for the one whose life is brought into union with God?

He lays upon our sorrowful heads crowns. He crowns us with His own loving-kindness and tender mercies.

His crown of loving-kindness replaces our crown of thorns of shame, fear and disgrace. His crown of loving-kindness replaces our crown of guilt, despair and hopelessness. He replaces crowns of hurt and rejection with crowns of loving-kindness.

And what of His crown of tender mercies? Oh, dear One! We go from experiencing harshness, meanness, insensitivity to be crowned with tender mercy. This speaks of the utmost of warmth, protection, and being enclosed in a surrounding of complete safety. For the word here and elsewhere in the Old Testament comes from the Hebrew word which means compassion, tender love, great, tender mercy and pity as cherishing the fetus in the womb.

Oh, to come from a life of desolation to a life of such tenderness, pity and love is almost beyond fathoming! To come into the warmth of such protecting, hovering, covering love is almost too much to conceive!

~Bless the Lord, oh my soul
And all that is within me bless His holy Name~
My Redeemer Jesus has replaced my crowns and...
~ I know that my Redeemer liveth, and that He shall stand at the latter day upon the earth, Whom I shall see for myself, and my eyes shall behold~ The One Who has crowned me so…

I used to read alot about revivals. I've always been hungry to be a part of a true revival.

The great Welsh revival, of course started in the heart of God and He moved upon people to pray for awakening for quite awhile before the revival started.

But it was when a young girl stood up in a meeting and said "I LOVE JESUS SO MUCH" that the Shekinah Glory fell and the revival started.

When a stranger was passing through one of the areas that the revival was taking place, he asked what was going on. (No one in bars, hardly any crime, etc).

The person answering said "Don't you know? JESUS CHRIST HAS COME TO THIS TOWN!!!

Oh, won't you do it again, precious LORD?

Well I read these last two posts about the love and beauty of Jesus and the girl standing up and shouting. "I love you Jesus!" And here come the tears. Your words go straight to my heart! Thanks!

Thanks for your positive imput, my friend. I do believe there are bits of the fire of revival here and there in this country. I "see" a few signs.

Sigh...He has been telling me to start praying for a "true" revival where more people and especially the church turn back to HIM. But I have not been obeying His promptings. The spirit is willing but...the flesh is weak. I used to pray for it almost daily... sigh... I do long to see a mighty outpouring of His Holy Spirit!!!

Behold the Lamb of God

Luk 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised...
Jesus Christ of Nazareth

Are you feeling poor and desperate, dear reader? Has your heart been broken? Are you bound in a habit that is destroying you? Do you feel as if there is darkness all around you and you need someone to light your way? Have you been hurt or bruised?

Oh, come to Jesus! His arms are outstretched to you today just as they were outstretched on that cruel cross 2,000 years ago.

Come to Jesus, dear reader! He will not condemn nor judge you. You need only to cry out to Him today. He is the God of our hearts and He made your heart so that your heart and His might beat together as one.

He who comes to Jesus will not be cast out

And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

Most of us, who have read the Gospel of John know the close, intimate and loving relationship that John had with Jesus.

John is sometimes referred to as the "apostle of love". And one can see him as the years go by almost crying out "Beloved, let us love one another".

But it was not always so. One of the severest rebukes that Jesus gave the Apostle John was when John wanted to call down fire from Heaven to destroy those that did not agree with the teachings of Jesus. Jesus turned and rebuked His disciple and said something like you (John) don't know what manner of spirit that is coming out of you. For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men's lives but to save them.

Jesus is extremely concerned that we reflect the Character of God. We must have it a priority in our lives to learn what He is like so that we do not destroy people and drive them away from Jesus instead of towards Him.

Precious reader, have people been harsh, cruel, mean to you? Have they been critical of you? Have you even suffered the trauma of abuse?

Know that this is not the way Jesus is. The very definition of His love starts with - Charity (love) suffers long and is kind... He is very kind, gracious, of tender pity and mercy and He loves us so very much.....

Seeing His Perfect Love!

~And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
And when the centurion, which stood over against him, saw that he so cried out, and gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God~

It is hard to fathom the grace of God towards the centurion who watched Jesus die. A centurion was the leader over one hundred soldiers in ancient Rome. Apparently this unnamed centurion was appointed to lead the band of soldiers who were the ones responsible for nailing Jesus to the cross.

What was it about the way Jesus died that caused this man to conclude that Jesus Christ of Nazareth is the Son of God? He must have witnessed many crucifixions.

The centurion saw the darkness that hovered over the earth during those terrible three hours. He probably was knocked down by the large earthquake. He heard the most terrible cry ever shrieked from human lips. ~My God, My God why hath You forsaken me~ Jesus cried in utter desolation.

We may be certain that he saw many more terrible things during that darkest day of human history.
However, I believe it was the perfect love flowing from the dying Saviour that the Holy Spirit used to open the murderer’s eyes that Jesus truly is the Son of God.

Never has there been more perfect love displayed than when Jesus pleaded for forgiveness for His murderers as they drove the nails through His hands and feet. ~And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left. Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do~

What love was displayed from the God-man during His crucifixion! The assurance to the thief crucified next to Him when he cried out to Jesus and Jesus assured him that he would be in paradise. The entrusting of His mother into John’s care. The refusal to come off the cross as He was cruelly mocked.

The centurion was the leader of the band that crucified the Saviour of the world. This man was destined for this before the foundation of the world. But he was also destined to have his eyes and heart opened by God to recognize that Jesus is the Son of God. His life would never be the same again. Because He realized Who Jesus is, I believe he will be in Heaven.

Oh, what a display of the mercy, grace and love of God!

When I pour out my soul in me, empty myself out and give it all to God, during the trying moments in my life, I usually sit at the piano and sing this:

How can I say thanks for the things you have done for me
things so undeserved, yet You give to prove your love to me
the voices of a million angels could not express my gratitude.
all that I am, or ever hope to be, I owe ti all to thee. (usually in tears by this point)
to God be the glory to God be the glory to God be the glory for the things He has done. With His blood He has saved me, with His power He has raised me, to God be the glory for the things He has done.
Just let me live my life, let it be pleasing, Lord to Thee, and should I gain any praise let it go to Calvery.
with His blood He has saved me, with His power He has raised me. To God be the glory for the things He has done.

Even tho I was raised in an overly conservative, ritualisitically ultra holy, in the bible, - this is right, this is wrong, Type of family............ I was an accident, and an unwanted baby.
not a guess, I listened to that garbage, along with some other icky stuff, other icky actions, that are now buried in a gigantic ocean of love and forgiveness.
what is so amazing to me, -looking back- while my identity was being stripped from me, I was finding, at a very young age, my identity in Christ. God took good care of me, and let me start reading at a very early age. I read the bible, took notes meditated,, talked to God for hours as early as 4 years old. I have some very vivid memories of all this. My entire existence was about living for Jesus, thru all the trauma, it merely fed the flame.
quote:

Has your image of God been at times distorted due to misrepresentations

This happened in my 16th summer, something happene, a series of events, and I was deceived, became angry at God, and stepped out of my faith for a season....... a very short season that ended death.

Jesus Christ is Very Great
.

Where is the darkness that He cannot vanquish? Where is the life He cannot heal and save? Where is the impossible He cannot do?

"Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war." (Revelation 19:11)

Today, right now, right where you and I live, God is faithful. Jesus will make a way. In fact, it's better than that. Jesus is the way.

Remember the people in the Gospel stories? There were people born blind, people with shriveled hands, people with useless legs, people with leprosy, people whose lives were in the very hands of demonic spirits. Many of these folks had lost every hope -- until Jesus came along. And some of them had little hope that even Jesus could really help them out.

But you know what? When Jesus spoke, the dead woke up. When Jesus touched a life, everything was set right. Nothing was impossible for Jesus. And right now, in your life, nothing is impossible for Jesus.

Jesus is the ultimate power and principle that saves the world. He is the faithfulness of God at work. Jesus will make things make sense. Wherever you are in your life and walk, remember what God has said. God will not fail to do all that He’s promised. Whatever God has said, God will do.

Don't lose hope. Don't waver when the going gets difficult — and then impossible. When the days grow dark and the storm rages all around us, we’ll be kept by Him who keeps us. Even if we should perish in this world, we will stand in robes of righteousness at the throne of Him who died to save us. He is our King, our Shepherd, our Life and our unfailing Hope. He is our Savior and Lord. His Name is Jesus. All praise and honor and glory belong to Him forever. Amen and amen.

Praise God for His faithfulness, our Rock that cannot be moved, our secure Place in the storm! What would we do without Him? I can't imagine where I would be without my Saviour's strong arms to lift me up.

I am finding out more and more what Jesus means to me. I have only been a Christian for a year....and yes I have had some struggles due to the faith that I came from. I never really saw the importance of having a relationship with Jesus until a year ago, and to be honest up until a month ago, I think I was on "auto pilot". Meaning, I went to church, I prayed, but I never saw the importance of studying God's word, so with that being said....I think God kicked me out of my comfort zone, and for the first time in my entire life scripture started making sense to me...my pastor gave me some scripture to read, and I just kept going...
I guess I always thought that God wouldn't want to really help someone like me...I am learning more everyday to accept His gift of forgiveness...it's hard because I know if I was God I couldn't forgive so easily. so Jesus does mean everything to me because He has given me a new purpose in life, and a new heart and I am learning everyday to depend solely on Him and not on others...

Jesus, Friend of Sinners

And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster box of ointment,
And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.
Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner. And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head.
Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet.
My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment.

One aspect of Christ’s character that most endears me to Him is He never turns away sinners who come to Him.

The woman in this true story was known in the city as a sinner. Imagine how she must have felt to be labeled a sinner! The guilt and shame must have been unbearable.

For this is what sin does unless our conscience is seared. It brings guilt, shame and disgrace to the one in sin’s captivity. And the downward spiral gets worse as we try to cover up our shame.

However this woman experienced a flicker of hope as the stories came to her about Jesus of Nazareth, for it was the publicans, sinners, broken and guilt-ridden flocking to Him. She came to believe that He was the One who could help and forgive her and He did as at the end of the story assuring her that her faith had saved her.

Oh, what a beautiful friend of sinners He desires to be to us! Notice how He turned and looked upon her as an individual and affirmed her to the proud Pharisee! As He kept His eyes fixed in love upon her He noticed every detail of her loving acts. He defended her while Simon was critical. What joy, hope and relief this must have brought to her. Finally One recognized her worth and value after perhaps years of hiding behind shame and guilt.

We desire to hide from God when we sin. But it is His desire for us to come to Him, pour out our hearts to Him and learn of Him. As we do this we will be set free from our sins, guilt and shame.

Let us turn to Him today. He will defend us against our critics.
