What, if God gave you the chance, what would you tell your future husband or wife, if you believe that you are to marry?


Ok, here's what I'd say:

I have waited my entire life for you, I have saved up blessings for you. I have been through many, many fiery trials for you. Knowing this, alone, I know that you will be a blessing! I will love you so deep and true, my best friend, my kinswoman, my spouse!

If God knew us before we were formed, I am sure it is possible we knew each other then! The choices we made, and God's gentle placement with our parents, in this time and He is leading us together!

God showed me Psalm 128 to challenge my heart to believe. He showed me Ruth 3:7 in a dream, to answer my prayer about how I would know I found you.

"... she came softly, and uncovered his feet, and laid her down."

You will come when I am asleep, not aware. You will do that which is unseemly and quite bold, you will come to me and you will uncover my feet... and lay down at them. You will show your vulnerability, and your humbleness in one move..

I pray for you all the time. I have at times, thought I found you.. but they were imposters seeking thier own ways and glories. You, my love, seek God's glory, and you will stop at nothing to find me so that you and I will glorify OUR Father with every aspect of our meeting and our lives together.

So, come now, and let us knit our hearts, our souls, and our flesh together so that the future generations will know that God has blessed our union, and that God truly is holy, merciful, fierce, wild, and sovreign! They will want to come and taste of His goodness, as we have found!

I would let him know that I have TRULY saved every aspect of myself completely for him---body, mind, and soul. Sometimes I wonder if I am "saving" a little too much of myself, as I don't really date and turn down guys a lot. BUt, I then think of the blessing it will be when I can really give myself to him as an unopened gift that God will present to Him when the time is right. I am into delayed gratification and honoring my husband even now far surpasses any temporary joy that a superficial dating relationship would bring. I would also tell him that he is the only man that will ever know me physically, mentally, and spiritually and that I have made an effort to keep myself "baggage free" for our marriage, and hope he has done the same. God is awesome and he can save and set apart two people for each other any way he wants to.

Oh yeah, then I would ask him....."WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG!!!!" [:D]

Hey, no problem at all. I posted this here because I wanted to express how I feel in my heart of hearts. I think God wanted me to pour it out like that. A female friend has told me I'd be a great blessing to my future wife. One reason was my sense of poetic, deep-felt romance. :)
I don't mind if you all use it if it is what you feel too!

I like to write, and I do so much better in writing because my brain is very connected to my hands, hehe.

*THE LIGHTER SIDE*
How YOU doin'. I'm Rich and I'm gonna cuddle you so much you'll have to beat me off of you sometimes. I can't cook, but you can be sure I'll do the dishes, I'll scrub the floors, and I'll do the laundry. I'll do my best to keep the toilet seat down and to keep the bathroom clean, but don't take it personally if sometimes the washing facilities aren't as... uhm... spotless as you, a girl, may be used to. I'll always make sure there's plenty of air freshner so you can survive the odors my highly round physique may cause when the weather gets hot. I won't pick my nose when you're looking, either. And try to understand that men's feet smell, period.

*THE SERIOUS SIDE*
Hi. For the past few years I have wondered when, how, and where I'd meet you. In fact, there were days and nights that I really believed I was never going to get married.

I carry scars and there are things that I remember that I wish I didn't. I'm a work in progress and the Lord is patient with me; He's my healer and He's my teacher. I'm just a bad student.

I don't know your past (yet) and while I may be curious, I won't judge you because I've messed up along my journey. As you know, some of our fellow Christians successfully saved themselves for their special one. If you must know, I'll just ask you to forgive me that I failed to do so. But I can promise I'll do my best to be the best Christian husband. I may not make six figures, I may not be especially good with handiwork, and sometimes I just won't be in a great mood. But you can rest assured I'll be there when you suffer. When you're hurting, I will be next to you. I will offer my shoulder and chest for you to lean on. Even if I'm hurting worse, I won't cry in front of you so that you will have, in me, a strong person you can find comfort in.

I will wipe your tears away, I will hold you tenderly, and I will be your protector.

I will seek to connect with you in the deepest possible level. I will seek to communicate with you on any subject and I will do my best to understand you. I ask that you be patient because I may not always see things your way.

You may sometimes see me as a torn-up illustration that was put back together with scotch tape. But don't look at the lines that show where tears were made. Look at the picture that happens to be complete.

I will love you with all my heart - and I want to be loved the same way. And it is my prayer the Lord will be the foundation - the beginning and the end of everything we ever share.
