Yeah . . . and make sure you're wearing clothes, also.

I was - lifting properly and wearing clothes! I used to be a CNA so I know how to properly lift and I'm down-right religious about it. Actually, that ended up not being the hard part though. See, the guys who pulled my old tree out told me they tried to get all the big roots out. Now, I'm not sure what their definition of a big root is, but well, there were a LOT of big roots there when I was digging out the new hole... But, after using some loppers and getting all dirty, I finally got a good size hold dug out - not quite as large as I'd read to dig (4 TIMES the width of the root ball... hello?), but big enough... . Then I used my handy-dandy hand cart and hauled the tree out front, had some fun getting it out of the plastic container it was in but finally did my best "lift with your legs" lift and plopped it in the hole.

It's going to be so pretty!

And I think I need a shower...

Probably about 10-12'. My dad said he thought it weighed about 70-75#'s but I don't think it was quite that heavy... Either that or I'm getting much stronger than I thought...

Here is a picture of it on this dismal evening.

Whoa, Phosy, that's a nice size tree!

I'm going to get a redbud. If the landscaping guy ever comes back.

That's why my daddy had to pick it up... I didn't think it would fit in my little Chevy Prism...

You have that spatial awareness thing down, don't you?

On that note... I'm going to bed. I'll probably laugh myself to sleep.

Yeah!!! My ride along is scheduled for Saturday. Of course, that means tonight and tomorrow night I need to get a ton of stuff done to get ready to head out of town... And I'll miss you all over the weekend (unless I get a chance to post on my uncle's computer, I probably won't be posting... I don't have a laptop... )...

So the pest you know is better than the pest you don't know?

Well, I got my oil changed, tires checked & rotated and picked up some snacks & drinks for my car trip. Of course, it was so lovely to see the gas prices went up ANOTHER 10 cents overnight... I have always loved my car, and I must say that I love it even more now. I can get up to 40 miles per gal on the freeway...

It's still gonna hurt the pocketbook though...

Have fun.

I have done the ride along thing and found it very educational.

This will be my 3rd one. It should be a lot quieter though because this is a small town... I think it will at least. It will be hard to top my 2nd ride along - dead body and all...

I do kinda hope we get to take someone to jail... On my other ride alongs, people were arrested, but we never got to be the ones to take them to jail...

Don't worry. I was just being completely stupid over that TV programme, "Big Brother". Just ignore me.

Have a good ride, Kirstin.

I'm trying desperately to find someone to watch my dog for me... I'm 0 for 3 so far (out of town, sick, out of town) and I'm starting to get a little nervous... The cats will be fine - I can find someone quite easy to pop in to check them, but the dog is another story...

And I am soooo tired still. I don't know what my problem is - I'm going to bed at a decent time, but I just want to sleep all the time... Which isn't good when you're at work...
