Or you can post in some of the threads I've been posting in lately. Apparently my blunt posting style is offending more people as is my difficulty with brevity... I guess I must sound angry when I'm trying to discuss things...

In the meantime, I want to take a nap. We had horrid thunder lightening last night and between the cracks & thuds of the thunder and the dog running around barking at it, I didn't get nearly enough sleep... At least I slept through the second storm - although I did dream about storms... In less than 12 hours, we've had 3 thunder/lightening storms moves through the area...

We had a bad thunder storm last night too. Is it me, or has this been a bad summer?

Not too bad here, but last night I think the storms were trying to get caught up for the year...

Well, don't send them to New England! We've had them almost every day all summer!

Anyone wanna give me a hug too? Just becuz??? I've had a horrid day ... was having really steady contractions all morning ... they stopped this afternoon when I sat down for an extended period. No big deal -- disappointing, but that's it. Hubby went to work for 2:30 -- and was home by 5:30 -- without a job. They said he wasn't performing adequately ... his average was 2.98 and they required a 3.0. We just found it odd that they terminated him immediately before he was supposed to go on parental leave. (He had submitted a letter a couple of months ago saying he was going on parental leave from approximately 08/08/08 until 03/31/09. Tomorrow was my original due date.

I say keep it up. If they're getting offended by what you say, that means they're reading it. Sooner or later, they may actually start paying attention to what you're saying instead of what they want to read.

Now Kristen where have you been posting? Also, I could use a nap myself also.

The sun is suddenly shinning very brightly outside my window. I did read the weather report that there is a change of showers either today or tomorrow. Oh well, one can still hope!

Just popping in for a bit. It's been my usual busy Saturday, but the yard work is done, the dog has had her bath & haircut (followed by my shower & haircut ) and laundry has been started. We had more thunder & lightening last night but it was before I went to bed so that was good. I was really tired...

I like being organized.

I don't mind a little dirt, but I like things to be organized.

My college professor (who was obsessively organized ... everywhere except her desk) had a sign on her office bulletin board "A clean desk is the sign of a disorganized mind"

Our custodian teases me that he always knows when I'm going to be taking a few days off. It's the only time I clean my desk off...

Well, it's a beautiful day and it's supposed to only reach around 85F so I'm happy. THe humidity of the last few days is also gone so my run this morning was actually pleasant. I'm excited to be able to sit around watching the Olympics, working on crochet, baking some bread and snuggling with the furries. My mom is also coming over so I can show her where I keep stuff because she will be housesitting/petsitting for me. Miss Audrey really loves her Grandma so hopefully she won't mope around so much. My last petsitter said she just moped the entire time and slept on my bed...

At least the cats gave her attention!

How are your crochet projects going?

What did you watch of the Olympics?

Kerr - Is Nicky insane too? And a pig too? I found Miss Asia on Petfinder.com at one of our area's local pet rescues. I had to apply to become her "mom". The evening I went to pick her up was at the local Petsmart (the rescue was there for their weekly adoption promos), it was the middle of a horrendous thunder and lightening storm. It was raining buckets and even inside the store, the thunder was deafening. The poor thing, only about 7-8 weeks old, was terrified. I brought her home and put her in my guest room with a litterbox and food/water and just let her be alone. She was so scared and didn't want to deal with anyone or anything. The next morning, I went in to check on her and she was calmed down and ready to take over the world. Of course, she didn't want anything to do with Miss Audrey at first, but now they are best buds. She likes the other cats too but she plays way to rough so the feelings aren't always mutual. Right now I'm thinking of putting her on a diet though...

-------------

Trish - crochet is going well. I've been working hard on an afghan for me. As soon as I finish it, I will start the Christmas gifts for this year. I have all the yarn, just need to start working. As far as the Olympics, I've been watching a bit of everything: swimming, gymnastics, water polo, volleyball (beach & regular), fencing, etc.

-------------

And now in other news, my day today stinks. The first thing I do when I show up to work is tell the receptionist that because I will be gone the next few days and I have a massive amount of work to get done, to only buzz me if there is an emergency. I then turn on my computer terminal and discover that our server has been hit with adware/viruses. I don't have time for this - I am gone the next 2 days and this week is payroll. Fortunately, the computers are up and moving again, but unfortunately, we discovered our church database is messed up and no one can use it (it actually worked this morning so who knows...). At least my accounting program works.

Then, I get a call from collections of a credit card company we had business cards from several YEARS ago saying that they hadn't received our payment for one of the pastor's cards annual fees. Ummm. That's because we cancelled those cards several YEARS ago. She kept making excuses and I was saying, we cancelled the card. Why would we owe annual fees? She finally gave me the number of another place to call to contest the charges. I haven't told the boss about this one yet, but with as much as is on my plate today, there is simply no way I'll have time to deal with this and payroll is priority.

Then, the receptionist calls me and says that our line 1 is still having problems and blah..blah..blah.. I tell her that the phone company checked the lines and they were fine, so the business manager needed to contact our phone system guy. I think she wanted me to deal with it, but there is no reason for me to be in the middle of this. I am the bookkeeper - not the facilities manager.

Then, my dad calls (and this one needs prayer!). I can tell by his voice that this isn't a social call. Yesterday, my mom said that the Moron - the guy who had tried to kill his wife (my dad's worker) - had started calling her kids and trying to get them to do things. He even started calling another worker she is close friends with and threatening to kill her and her family. Anyway, they are having problems with the local phone company who refuses to disconnect her number because it's "in his name" so today my dad headed back with her to the police to put some pressure on them to trace the calls and to see if they can get the phone company to do the humane thing and change her number at least. Anway, this morning my dad calls and asks how he can get ahold of my deputy friend (the only one in that particular department where my parent's live who apparently seemed to give a rip and try to help ). Apparently, one of their other workers thought he saw the Moron and they are all freaked out. I told him to call the sheriff's dept.

Back at work, I am having a late lunch because I spent the first part of lunch restarting our servers to see if the issues would get resolved but nothing.

I wanna go home...
