I'm glad, Kristin. I felt a little frustrated in the conversation yesterday. It helped to realize that we were discussing two seperate issues!

Oh...my wife, Deb, is a good artist. Like creating that lace for her new avatar. And all the other incredible things she's drawn and painted since she got the Paint Shop Pro program about 5 years ago.

But...she's also a pretty darn good writer. I think she just demonstrated that. No wonder she got that article on her river rafting adventure published in Sierra magazine years ago.

Not that I'm proud of her, or anything like that, mind you.

Well...maybe a little.

Maybe more than a little.

When I feel strongly about something, writing is easy. And I do believe the Lord is trying to move me to a more eternal perspective. I still struggle with it, though. Sometimes, I'm just not ready to see past the circumstances. In this particular instance, though, I'm ready!

Yep! And it's very easy to do with this type of communication (forums). Actually, I take that back - it's very easy to do with any type of communication!

These forums provide a good way to clarify misunderstandings. Sometimes in direct conversations somebody can't find the right words to express something, or doesn't get a chance to get a word in edgewise to permit further explanation of a point.

In a forum, those who are truly interested in each other will take the time to either write or read a lengthy post that may help get things into the perspective that the original poster indended.

I'm getting to kinda like these forums.

Have a great rest of the weekend, everybody!

Oh, definitely! I agree with Kristin. I think John has a good point as well. I have problems in real life with people not listening with what i have to say, because in real life I'm a whole lot less articulate and believe it or not, it's hard for me to know what just to say and how to say it.

Good point John, on the other hand, forums can be one dimensional where you do not have voice infection at all, and as a result, someone can completely miss read a point that you are making as well.

Thanks for clarifying things, Deb. I was confused yesterday, but it makes sense now.

Boy, do I know where you're coming from. My church would love you and John. Have you read the book, experiencing the Depths of Jesus Christ by Madame Guyon? It really embraces suffering.

I know both sides of the teaching. My jury's still hung.

I had been typing a post, for the past hour (I type slowly, remember), trying to clarify what I was saying here yesterday, and the power went out for a second. I lost the entire post! It was well-written, too!

Not sure when I'll be able to reconstruct it. More thunderstorms are expected this afternoon, so I may need to go offline and type it in Word so I can save it as I go along. Kristin, I do accept your apology--thanks. When I'm able to post my clarification, maybe you and Slushie will better see where I'm coming from. But it's lunch time now, so I'd better close.

I had good sleep last night, so church went very well for me! We had a missionary from Burkino Faso (the son-in-law of our retired pastor). He taught Sunday School and preached the sermon. I was able to actually pay attention! And...no migraine! I could get used to Sundays like this!

Glad you enjoyed church, Deb. Our bus only runs weekdays. It's nearly past me to transfer to the van. I can't find an aide to come for only two hours to get me ready.

I'm sorry to hear that, Marsha! Sure wish I could help.

Doesn't your area have para-transit? I thought the Americans with Disabilities Act mandated that every locale offering bus service had to also provide para-transit.

If I'd read more carefully, I would have caught that.

Para-transit is required to run on the same schedule as public transportation. It's equal access, not special access!

Do you get migraines a lot?

Today at church the preacher splashed me with water. He's actually training to be a minister. Our church lets people training to be ministers preach sometimes. He's a nice guy.

It was fun.... but why'd he have to pick on me?

Well, it WAS hot that day.... It was funny because the guy preaching is a soft-spoken guy and that's the last thing anyone would have expected. It was nice, though.
