[:D] I live in Flaxmere which is of course Hastings lol

cherish405 -> RE: Calling all Aussies and Kiwis and their admirers (4/20/2005 7:12:37 PM)

LOL. I wonder if you guys are neighbours. If you are, go get em coz they're not Christians yet. LOL!

Les -> RE: Calling all Aussies and Kiwis and their admirers (4/20/2005 10:56:25 PM)

The neighbors on either side of me are Christians, so I will try the houses on either side of them and ask .... hey are you Cherish405's brother? cos she has sent me to tell you some real good news. [:)]

Seriously though I will pray that God will touch his heart and he will be drawn to God, by the Holy Spirit.

Its so nice to meet another kiwi, even though she has defected to the hmmmm A land lol. I really do love Australia....well at least parts of it....I love Cairns .I want to go back to Cairns, [:(] but that will have to wait, we are coming to the States and Canada this year.

cherish405 -> RE: Calling all Aussies and Kiwis and their admirers (4/21/2005 5:46:48 AM)

LOL! Even if you did run into him, he doesn't know me as cherish405. Oh well. God can get him and his family somehow.

Yes, I know. I defected. LOL. I used to read stories as a kid about living in the Australian outback. Perth isn't exactly the outback, but it's as close to the outback as I would like to live. I never thought that God would actually move me here. He knew though that it wouldn't be until I came to Australia that I would come to Him. I still think of NZ as home, but Australia is home too. I guess I'm really lucky in that I have 3 homes. NZ, Australia, and Heaven. I'm a citizen of all three.

Some day, I'd love to go to the US and Canada too. I have many friends and family that I would love to meet there. That won't be happening in the near future, but hopefully one day.

So what do you do with yourself over in Hastings? Do you work? Study?

Les -> RE: Calling all Aussies and Kiwis and their admirers (4/21/2005 7:02:48 AM)

Kia Ora Cherish,
I was a moderator at c.com until a few weeks ago and God lead me into something else. I am doing voluntary work with the cancer society and with my church outreach. I am also doing a Bible course. Also working with those that are abused.

When I come to the States and Canada this year, I am going to be meeting lots of friends from c.com that I have met online and whilst a moderator over those years.
I have learned so much from being online and I have come to realise that when God takes us on a journey, we need to take His hand and let Him lead us and obey Him, life is exciting with Him when we allow Him to lead us. Each day is for today and tomorrow is His to order.

MartinfromOz -> RE: Calling all Aussies and Kiwis and their admirers (4/21/2005 7:27:01 PM)

Hi Trish,

I'm still here in Sydney. There are a few more of us around. ChesterDash & Rapturefish. They may not have seen this thread yet. Someone else kindly pointed it out to me.

BTW, I though the Oprah House was in Chicago! The Opera House is in Sydney.

cherish405 -> RE: Calling all Aussies and Kiwis and their admirers (4/21/2005 10:38:14 PM)

Hey Martin. Good to see you. Long time no talk. Thanks for the heads up on ChesterDash and rapturefish.

Les, sounds like you keep pretty busy. Cancer sufferers and abuse victims. Wow, I would find that hard. I know both.

Yeah, I've got family in Canada. (Can't remember where right now). If I ever got to the US and Canada, I'd be catching up with friends from Crosswalk. I've made so many wonderful friends here.

mrsouthside -> RE: Calling all Aussies and Kiwis and their admirers (4/21/2005 11:26:49 PM)

Trish, I was mentioning to a friend of mine.. that I would rather live in aussi then the US... and I told her that maybe I should find an Aussi woman to marry... [:)] but I really don't think God will bring me there to live... I would not mind visitng perth once more...

cherish405 -> RE: Calling all Aussies and Kiwis and their admirers (4/22/2005 12:34:07 PM)

Lots of governmental red tape to be able to live here, unless you're from NZ. That's possibly going to be changing soon, I hear.

cherish405 -> RE: Calling all Aussies and Kiwis and their admirers (4/25/2005 11:19:44 AM)

Any other Aussie/Kiwi lurkers out there anywhere??

ChesterDash -> RE: Calling all Aussies and Kiwis and their admirers (4/25/2005 10:25:15 PM)

AussieMum -> RE: Calling all Aussies and Kiwis and their admirers (4/25/2005 10:47:41 PM)

Hi Gary, glad to see the Aussie numbers increasing in here [;)]. I live on the Central Coast of NSW between Newcastle and Sydney. I have visited your area...it is beautiful. We have a 4WD and love going to forests and National Parks. I was just thinking the other day that it is time we headed up that way again soon. We have been spending a lot of our travel time out west. Would be nice to get to the forests again.

Hope to see you around more [;)]

Hi Cherish,
I am from hervey bay, north if Brisbane and, to borrow from Aussiemum, "in a rural/beachside/tourist" area. (Pasting is a lot better than my typing) lol
I haven't been lurking for the past 2 days, just unable to make any posts because the Post link (and a few others) is invisible to me. However, I have just discovered that the cursor responds to it nevertheless and, voila!, I have made it into the forum.

buddy lachlan

McGuinessMagee -> RE: Calling all Aussies and Kiwis and their admirers (4/26/2005 8:43:17 AM)

Hey Ausme and welcome to CW!

You're not so far from where we are. Dh sometimes does work up at Hervey Bay.

cherish405 -> RE: Calling all Aussies and Kiwis and their admirers (4/26/2005 10:59:48 AM)

WOOHOO! There's more of us!

Welcome Gary and Buddy! I'm so pleased to meet you!

Gary, I've seen you around CW for a little while, but didn't know where you were from. I think somebody told me at some stage that you were an Aussie, but I was too chicken to ask.

Buddy, I think I "met" you once on the old CW just before we moved over to here. Nice to catch up with you again.

I get a real kick out of meeting people from around our region.

rapturefish -> RE: Calling all Aussies and Kiwis and their admirers (4/26/2005 8:56:24 PM)

cheers,

Pleased to meet you too! [:D] News has been interesting lately hasn't it? Shappelle Corby being asked for a pregnancy test when Princess Mary is the pregnant one, Rubbish at Gallipolli after a night of solemn respect, and what about that poor girl who couldn't sing the amreican anthem without falling (literally) flat on her back? not the best way to be world famous.

blessings, [:D][;)]

ausme -> RE: Calling all Aussies and Kiwis and their admirers (4/27/2005 9:04:26 AM)

Hi All,
Yes, We did meet briefly Cherish. You were the one who scared me outa my boots about the kylie. But she is harmless after all [sm=icon_smile.gif] and hi to you MacGeeWhiz
I have put a couple of photos of the Bay together in an album called "All Around Me" if anyone would like a looksee. It is in the Photo Gallery under Crosswalk (i think!).
Also, we are getting some of God's wonderful rain here today - a real joy to listen to, for sure.

Rapturefish, that poor singer looked real glad when a sympathetic Channel let her try out in their studio, and with the words too!

Looks like everyone is getting use to the new order of things in the forums now and accepting that all things are made new.

Buddy,
God bless

I would definitely have to agree with that.

Buddy, I scared you about Kylie?! [sm=icon_smile_yikes.gif] But she's such a sweetheart! I haven't met any disagreeable Aussies or Kiwis yet! We're a pretty terrific bunch, just like the rest of the Crosswalkers.

rapturefish -> RE: Calling all Aussies and Kiwis and their admirers (4/27/2005 11:09:57 AM)

Glad the singer had a chance to redeem herself. LOL, hope she can laugh at it down the track. [:D]

I think the reactions to the new look and interface are settling more now. It took a bit of getting used to for some, but it's just different. I mean, there's the points system and so on, but you can't go automatically to the last post you looked at (or did I miss the way to do it?). I've also posted on another forum that takes the points thing to a more extreme level so it's not as big a jump for me.

While we're all here, what else shall we talk about?

Here's one possible topic - what's the most unusual traffic report you've heard in the media? Perhaps a couple of dogs stopping traffic, I heard that one the other day.

cheers,

cherish405 -> RE: Calling all Aussies and Kiwis and their admirers (4/27/2005 5:53:55 PM)

Rapturefish, I've heard quite a few stories of things that stopped traffic, but at the moment I can't think of anything.

I haven't caught up on the thread about the points etc that I hear is in Feedback. I'll get there later.

So what do you do with yourself to keep yourself busy? Do you work? Study? Got any hobbies?

ChesterDash -> RE: Calling all Aussies and Kiwis and their admirers (4/27/2005 6:46:12 PM)

I haven't heard any unusual traffic reports but I was visiting bellingen recentlywhich is about half an hour away and there was a horse walking up the main street. it didn't have a bridle or saddle on it and didn't appear frightened or anything and I don't know where it was from or where it was going.

As for hobbies, apart from computing I paint and enjoy vegetable growing.
Have a great day, Gary

ausme -> RE: Calling all Aussies and Kiwis and their admirers (4/28/2005 2:52:52 AM)

Hi everyone,
I have heard of the Queensland police rounding up cows and wallabies down in Brisbane. It wouldn't be as bad as some elephants that i heard of recently in - was it Asia? and once, i think it was LA, a bull elephant went on a rampage. No one hurt tho.

I have a photo of a light aircraft on the runway in Africa somewhere. Everyone huddled in the tin shed used as a office. The reason? A pride of lions sheltering under the wings from the midday sun. Now that was a traffic stopper!

Cheers,
Buddy
