I'm reading Extraordinary faith by Sheila Walsh. It is really good and will hopefully help me have more faith.

I love Acts also and especially reading about the day of pentecost. It is so awesome and makes my heart leap in excitement.

I just finished rereading, Charismatic Chaos, by John MacArthur. Right before that, I read, Shepherding a Child's Heart, by Tedd Tripp (the best book I've read so far on biblical parenting).

The Best I've read so far are from Arthur W. Pink (The Sovereignty of God), R.C. Sproul (many books), John MacArthur (Charismatic Chaos, The Gospel According to Jesus), Charles Spurgeon (All of Grace), James R. White (several), Lorraine Boettner ( a few), Walter Martin, Walter Chantry (Today's Gospel: Synthentic or Authentic).

I have two good book lists: One on theology/cults, and the other on marriage.

I also have an online ministry of sending out detailed summaries of many of these books of which you can learn the main points of the book through my emails. Just email me at markjc316@yahoo.com and ask for them.

God bless,
mark

Reading the Bible through at least once is such a treat. I hope every Christian makes the attempt to do this.

The first time I did it was beginning my senior year of high school and into my freshman year of college. I had been a Christian for 8 years when I did this, and it completely revolutionized my life. I cannot express enough how eye opening it was to read the Bible for myself. Never been the same since.

Just finished Riven by Jerry Jenkins. Now reading So Brave,Young, and Handsome by Leif Enger. Riven was good but predictable. I have read Peace Like a River by Enger--this one is even better IMO

I'm on the library waiting list and also hope it is good. It will probably be a couple of months before I get the chance to read it tho, but I can wait.

I'm still trying to figure out if I want to read the Shack. I've read the other topic about it and just need to decide on my own to read it. I have to give it back to a friend this week so that his wife can read it. I will probably pick it up tonight.

Finished So Brave, Young, and Handsome and Angry Housewives Eating Bonbons.

Sort of trying to finish Kon-tiki (Thor Heyerdahl and Company crossing the Pacific on a raft like the ancient Polynesians) and started The Flanders Panel (art mystery) and The Cloister Walk (poet exploring her growing faith by joining the Benedictines as an oblate..a lot of scripture and saint's quotations).

I'm also getting sucked into reading The Diamond Age by Neal Stephenson to my husband (Dickens goes steam punk). I've read that before though.

My MIL just bought The Shack - she took it on a week-long school vacation though. So, I'll have to wait for the weekend to hear anything about it!

Have you read Master of Ballantrae? It's pretty good -- especially if you're familiar with the history.
