The Oregon Files series, Rosie, is about a ship (the Oregon) which is owned by a group called The Corporation. Headed up by an ex-CIA agent named Juan Cabrillo, they take the "black-ops" jobs that even the CIA won't touch. The Oregon is a former cargo ship that looks like it's on it's last sea legs, but that's only on the outside. Inside, it's very, very different . . . but I'm not going to tell you about that. You'll have to get one of the books (Golden Buddha, Sacred Stone, Dark Watch, Skeleton Coast, or Plague Ship) and read it to see for yourself. I think you'll enjoy them.

What is the Oregon series about???

In addition to what Noblesinger told you I'd like to add this. . . .

The books are a well written action adventure series. There is minimal to no profanity, no graphic sexual encounter descriptions, and lots of action. He incorporates strong, smart female characters who can hold their own in a battle. None of that, damsel in distress, garbage.

There is a lot of violence but not a lot of gore. Be prepared for a lot of technical descriptions about ships, planes, helicopters etc.

Hope this helps.

The Bible, NLT Life Application Study Bible version. :P For some reason this is the book which has been getting the most attention within the last week.

I'm also reading the 5th book in the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan, rereading Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wnne Jones, and I've started Simon Cowell's biography. I also JUST started Surprised by the Voice of God, by Jack Deere.

I'm not sure if he's written any other books. I know that he has (or had) a Christian show on TV. I only saw it once, so I don't really remember anything about it.

Kirk Cameron wrote his autobiography. It's a pretty good read.

If you haven't already read some classic Updike, The Centaur is a great read. It is my favorite Updike, and I think I've read almost everything he's written.
