You have defended many of the false teachers on this forum (Hagee, Osteen, Meyer), but I think you may really want to think twice about defending Benny Hinn. You're going to be quite alone on that one.

1. Benny Hinn is a DOCUMENTED false prophet. I know of at least 3-4 of his prophesies that he said were FROM GOD, that never happened. That means either he is a liar, or God is.

2. Benny Hinn is a documented FAKE healer. Not ONCE has he been able to provide proof of a healing at one of his shows. Numerous Christian and secular news organizations have asked him, with no response. There are numerous accounts of people that claimed to be healed that got just as sick or worse soon after leaving his shows. Some have even died.

3. Benny Hinn extorted 30 million from his followers because God told him he needed to build a healing center in Mexico. Guess what, 3 years later, he has his 30 million but surprise....NO HEALING CENTER! Know what he did instead? When the Florida tax dept started looking at his finances, he packed up and moved to Texas

4. I'm not going to get into Benny Hinn's extravagant lifestyle.

I SECOND Bro_Shane! The man is an apostate, liar, and a lunatic. Not to mention a false prophet and heretic!

When I first saw & listened to Benny Hinn I was blown away and did not know what to think. I did not trust him. Then one night I just asked God is this man for real? Like, is He really serving You Lord? And the Lord did convict my spirit that I was wrong to hold the opinion of BH that I held @ that time. The Lord convicted my spirit that BH does really serve Him. Since then, I can't say I can explain BH or his actions or why does he do this or why does he say that, but I am very careful to not pass judgement on him. The Bible does state: Mar 9:40 "For he who is not against us is for us." Just my 2 cents and my personal experience with the Lord on this matter. (You are entitled to your opinion as I am entitled to mine.)

Any preacher period, if a person has doubts, don't "cuss & discuss" amongst one another, just ask God for His opinion and let Him tell/show you His opinion. That person will have much more peace because they will know God's heart in that matter, and then there will not be slandering of names as I am observing all over this "Theology" > "The Church" forum. I see many names thrown around with much judgement and criticism, very little of the acceptance that our Heavenly Father extended to us, when we dedicated our hearts & lives to Him. With the measure a person uses to judge, that measure will be used towards them.

So I encourage us all to exhort & edify as the scriptures say to do, to not compare, to not hold a magnifying glass to others continually, yet just occasionally to ourselves we hold the same magnifying glass (myself inc). Pastors will face God & be held accountable, just like we too will be.

I admit that I do enjoy watching/listening to some WoF ministers. However, Benny Hinn is not one of them. The best way I can put it is - he gives me the heebeegeebees.

Hmmm...Benny Hinn...what can we say?? Obviously a fair bit judging from this thread. I do not know the man personally but watched a programme about him ministering in Nigeria. It was broadcast on South African TV by a SA company. I cannot judge whether there is validity to some of his ministry (only God fully knows, and I recognise people can make mistakes) BUT I did watch it with a Nigerian friend and there was much portrayed in the documentary that made me question Benny Hinn's motives and the way he ministered.

Nigeria is a country that has a problem with corruption and poverty etc... What I could not stand when I saw the prog was to see Benny Hinn stay in a 5 star hotel and fly into the revival centre in his personal helicopter while thousands of Nigerians queued, slept on benches to see him, experience a touch from God and then he asked them for money... I leave you to discern that for yourself!!!

Really? Can you discern that being BH's fault, or the person's?

All I know from this man is that when I was little, my family and I went to one of his crusades. I hardly sat and watched his sermons that night, because I kept taking my siblings to the bathroom. Well, throughout the sermon, the Holy Spirit was so stronge, says my mother, that when BH waved toward their area, just waving his hand--well, everyone in the audience in their area started tumbling like dominos.

My mom said that our uncle started speaking in tongues, and that her foot got healed. My mom had a foot problem at the time, and when the Holy Spirit went throughout the building that night, her foot was healed. Benny Hinn didn't heal her foot, it was God that healed her foot.

BENNY HINN CAN'T HEAL ANYBODY, ONLY GOD CAN! You guys need to understand that. Through God, BH may be able to heal, but it's God's power, not Benny's, that heals. Really, you all should understand that. You can't make me not believe my mother wasn't healed that night, because she was! She had no problems with her foot again until years later when she got injured on her job.

It's just like that story about the woman in the Bible who had a blood problem that kept her sick. No doctors could heal her. So, on the day Christ was passing by, she moved her way through the crowd and when she touched Christ's clothing, she was healed! It wasn't the clothing that healed her, it was Jesus! That's how it is today. A man can't heal you, but through God, they can, because it's God's power!


Now, I've read one of BH's books, and in it he admits that when he's not obeying God, then the power is gone. He tells in his 1992 book, "The Anointing", that there were times when God would tell him something, and he would just put it aside. When not obeying God, BH was left alone, sometimes while teaching a sermon. But he also says that when he did obey God, then that's when the real power worked. By reading that book, I've learned that he's just a normal person. He's not holy. The only person who is holy is God.

Not everyone can be perfect all the time. I'm sure that EVERYONE OF YOU ATTACKERS have done something in your past that you aren't proud of. You wouldn't like that being brought up in front of the public, would you? Every sin you've did? A man is only human. Even when you're a saved believer, there are times when you will do something wrong. The best bet is to repent and strive to follow God even more.

I can't speak for BH today. I don't know the man. I don't know his heart. People do change, sometimes for the worse. I know this person that God worked wonders with, and then the man fell from God's grace and is now a big sinner. But please, like Jesus said, let those who have no sin, cast the first stone!

That is so true! I understand how these people may *think* it's their job to throw out a red flag on someone, but they should at least have compassion over it.

When someone falls from God's grace, don't attack them and name call them! Pray for them! Continue to love them! Hope that they'll come back to God!

That's one thing I don't see here...compassion!

I thought that Satan was supposed to be the accuser of us, not us against each other.

Like this person stated in his quote, we shouldn't follow anyone except Jesus! You may love your pastor now, and agree with his doctrines now, but how will you feel if he sinned and did a wrong thing? You'd feel shocked, right? Would you still love him? I mean, it's so easy to turn away from someone when there's disagreements.

You see, there's a fine line when condemning false prophets and fallen Christians.

To me, a false prophet has no love for God. You can immediately spot that out, when you let the Spirit lead you! This false prophet only cares about himself, not God. You can't even lead him back to God, because he never had the Spirit in him in the first place.

Whereas with a fallen Christian, that person still does love God, but may not be following God's way this moment. When that happens, sure, what this person says and preaches may not stand with God's view--but that's what we're for! To lead this person back to God. Though they may be misguided themselves, it's our duty to bring them back! Show them the way again! Not condemn them to Hell, or working for Satan's side.

The fact is people, you don't know the real Benny Hinn. But, it is no question that he at least had God in him at one point in time. Whether he still does is between him and God. It may be that he's gotten misguided and needs us to lead him back to God's way! Pray for him, instead of condemning him. The same thing with all of these people you find faults with.

If you were misguided, wouldn't you desperately want someone to lead you back?

I like what you said Bango...we are very quick to judge. There were things I saw on the documentary that made me question certain things because I thought it was not appropriate for a high-profile ministry person in Africa. However, I don't know Benny Hinn and cannot judge his relationship with God or how God might work through him. I think God uses people despite their mistakes and weaknessed - you see that in the Bible with people like King David or the apostle Paul, or Moses!!! Your point to PRAY for him is the best suggestion...if he continues in public ministry, just like your pastor we need to pray for these people and that they do stay true to God, his word etc...because there is much in the world that can distract and draw you away from walking with God... Benny Hinn is as human as the rest of us...I just don't agree with some of the ways he does things...

People get sick and die, because we live in a corrupted universe. It's not BH's fault they are sick, but he says he can heal them when he knows good and well he can't.

Oh, we understand that quite well, although it would seem that Benny hasn't quite grasped it yet. In fact, Benny hasn't healed one person - whether used by God or not - period. Not one. That should tell you something.

This is getting quite old. First, perfection is not the standard and has never been. We aren't saying that BH should do everything perfectly, but that he should, at the very least, be able to get scripture right, or know when he was saved, which he doesn't.

Calling a false teacher for what they are isn't attacking, it's telling the truth. God has given us permission and full authority to to judge the teachings of men. There's a simple way to prove it - let's go to scripture. I go to scripture and place what BH says and does against it and, guess what? It turns out BH is a liar and apostate. He seduces the sick and needy to rob them of their hope and whatever money they have. He should be ashamed.

Please name one person who is not always confronted with their past. I am frequently - it's called a testimony. I don't mind telling people about my past because it shows the love and grace of God toward me and everyone else. I don't have to hide anything.

I am just amazed that making sure a preacher/teacher is faithful to scripture has now become akin to Satan attacking believers and, somehow, shows a lack of compassion.

Some people need to quit paying attention to TV preachers and start reading your Bibles a little more.

I really hate getting into a discussion about Benny Hinn, but I will say this. I do know a girl who got healed of fibromyalgia at one of Benny Hinn's crusades. I also know a woman who became a Christian by attending one of his crusades years ago, and she is still a Christian and reflects it. I'm not defending or against Benny Hinn. I just wanted to add that. There are so many conflicting things out there about Benny Hinn, that I don't know what the truth is. I have checked him out a few times, and I have to say that I think the music and worship is excellent, as far as the rest of it, I don't know.

I just realized this is an old thread that was brought back.

I'm sorry, but you're wrong! Did you not read what I said about my mother? She got healed at one of his crusades. She went in with a foot problem, which was painful to walk on, and she went out pain-free! She didn't have any problems with her foot until years later when she got injured on her former job. Apparently God was working in that crusade, or else my mother would have never been healed...which means that BH must've been following God back then, if he's not now.

You know, pray for him! Like someone here mentioned above, if you open your Bible you'll see a lot of those people who God used had their own faults that disappointed God. Wasn't it Jacob who lied to his father about who he was, and took his brother's blessing? King David slept around and had one of his soldiers killed because he, David, had to go and sleep with the man's wife. Moses killed a man! Apostle Paul persecuted the Christians before he converted! And wasn't one of the disciples a cheating tax collector or something like that? Yet, God still found grace in these people, to forgive them of what they had done, and decided to use them for His purpose.

It's so easy to condemn people nowadays. If these few Bible people lived in today's world, would you easily forgive them, and listen to what they say? I know some of you may have a hard time to, because I've seen the Paul thread on this forum. That's why I said to pray for BH, that if he is truly lost, that he will find God again.

I would like to ask if BH actually laid his hands on your mother and told her her foot was healed? What condition did your mother suffer from? Was it found by a doctor and then verified to be healed by a doctor? Did she ever have x-rays or tests that showed an actual problem (disease, broken bones, wrecked tendons, etc.)?

What I'm trying to figure out here is if BH healed your mother through the Spirit, or if your mother prayed to be healed and God delivered her without BH being involved (other than being in the same place). God can and will work (and I have said this many times before) in spite of what man does, not because of it. If something good happened it wasn't because of Benny Hinn, it was because of the goodness of God. I say this because from the beginning of his ministry, Benny Hinn has been an apostate and a fraud.

First, you assume I don't pray for or love Benny Hinn. I do love and pray for him. But that does not mean I should stop telling the truth about him. He is a liar and a fraud.

I am well versed in people that God used that did not act or do as God wished. I also know that those who managed to stay in His will were those who repented of their sin and returned to God. BH continues to make a mockery of the faith and Christ every time he extorts the sheep.

Whether or not these people did these things (and we both know they did) has no bearing on what Benny Hinn is doing now. If you go back and look at the examples you give, these people were repentant. Benny Hinn continues to twist the word of God for pride and profit.

Again, this has no bearing on what Benny Hinn is doing and what scipture says about it. I'm all for forgivess, but until BH decides to repent and publicly denounce his error, I will keep telling the truth about him.

I was little at the time, so I wouldn't know if she had went to the doctor before or after it. The only x-rays she had was of when she had it checked out years later when she injured it on her job.

And no, BH didn't lay hands on her. It's hard to describe, but he swooshed his arms all over her area of the stadium. When he did that, the Holy Spirit was so strong, people started falling down like dominos, and my mother said it was like the power of God punched her in the stomach and traveled down to her foot, which then her foot became healed. She went in hoping BH would do something to heal her. She was hoping for a healing. And when he swooshed his arms over her area of the stadium, that's when she was healed.

The only evidence I have is that she was able to walk again on that foot. Before she was healed, she couldn't hardly walk on it, but afterwards she was able to. Her foot was fine until a few years later, while at her job, she tripped and twisted that same foot and damaged it. She's had x-rays for that injury,(mostly because she had to defend herself from her boss' lawyers), and she still has that injury. That's why she wanted to go back to one of BH's crusades last year...because nothing else could make it better again.

Yet the medical specialists found that Holyfield’s internist really gave an inaccurate diagnosis from the tests. We ask, who was "telling" Hinn that Holyfield was healed? Holyfield clarified the confusion with sports writer, Terence Moore. "He felt the faith healer had no affect upon his heart." Holyfield said, "There really was not anything to heal. That is because I do not believe that I had a problem with my heart to begin with."After donations were low in covering the crusade attended by Holyfield, Hinn solicited $100,000 from him to help with the expenses. ...Linda Tyson brought her 17 year old son, Shandez who was injured in football and is now incapacitated in a wheel chair. She went to his crusade in Atlanta with much hope and faith. The first and second night she could not get in. Then Hinn prayed for Shandez briefly backstage and they went home still hoping for a miracle.

...Laura Twilly was dying of cancer and came to be healed. She was interviewed in a screening process. As often happens, she said she could not walk, but after attending she felt better and was very excited. Not truly healed, she walked with a new strength at the crusade; she died four weeks later.

...In his book "Welcome Holy Spirit", he claims that a hospital’s chapel was filled with clinically ill, bed-ridden patients. The doctors and nurses watched as they anointed people. He said that it looked like an earthquake hit because the people were lying everywhere.
What Benny chronicled got investigated by G. Richard Fisher of Personal Freedom Outreach. He wrote, "Something of this magnitude probably never would have been forgotten at Sault Saint Marie General Hospital. How did it ever escape the attention of the news media? As described by Hinn, this could be the most incredible happening Canada had ever experienced. Many people could verify it, yet there is neither anyone at the hospital who remembers it as Hinn tells it, nor are there records to confirm the fact.
The real story is neither extraordinary nor miraculous. Here is what actually happened. Our connection with the hospital got us the response, ‘Benny who?’ Director of community relations for Sault Saint Marie General Hospital, Lois C. Krause instantly denied all that Hinn claimed. She said it could not have happened in the way that Hinn’s book described. She laughed after reading a copy of the story. No miracles occurred in the hospital as Hinn claims, she said, adding that no patients left that day due to miraculous occurrences. Some older staff members did recall Hinn’s name but did not remember anything as extraordinary as Hinn’s book describes. They did not deny the possibility that chapel meetings were held, but did not recall the meeting as recounted in Welcome Holy Spirit. Mother Superior Mary Francis, also disputed Hinn’s account. The hospital released this statement which included the following remarks: ‘No such events have ever occurred at General Hospital. His pronouncements can neither be verified through the medical records nor by testimony by past or present personnel of this hospital. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.

Look past the sheep skin covering, & compare the teaching, statements, & lifestyle with scripture, and it will become obvious. Don't be deceived!

Soxfan, That is incredible.

Why are we so easily deceived. I'm guilty, for a time.

Because we know we serve a loving, powerful God.
Because we want to believe men and women of the cloth tell the truth.

My heart is sick. Sick enough to tell the truth to those who ask.
And now I'm collecting the evidence in a notebook so they can read for
themselves.

We might ask, How can this be true? Wouldn't God put a stop to it?
God allows a many things to test each one of us if we truly follow Him,
or the men leading us astray. I don't have the text, but it's there.

Revelation is coming of the false claims and teachings. We can see it
as the halogen lights are turned on. . . . {unless we close our eyes}

I was guilty of not knowing the true theology of many of these false teachers. Living in New England, we are not exposed to a lot of it. It wasn't until I got Sky Angel did I see first hand the greed, self-edification, and outright heresy coming from these people.

I made it a point to watch them frequently (and still do) to study their twisted doctrine and compare it to Scripture. I have many friends that blindly follow their every word. It's sad, because they are very mature believers. In many cases, more mature than me. But the Bible does say, these false teachers will deceive even the elect.

While God may be disappointed with these false teachers, he's probably more disappointed at the amount of people that ignore His Word and instead blindly follow them and help fund their lavish lifestyles.

But I will press on!

- Are you sure - beyond any doubt - that what you are proclaiming in here - is the

truth ?

Please agree with this much -, that if NOT you are totally sure that what you are

accusing this man of,is true ... you are making yourself guilty in saying false things about a servant of God - your own brother ...

- " It is by the Evil Spirits that he does this" ..... That is what they ( the true believers) said about Jesus.

- How do you think they will answer for themselves on Judgement Day ?

Maybe the Lord will ask YOU this: " While my servant Benny Hinn was being obediant
to HIS calling - what where YOU doing, my child ? "

- Make sure, that "slandering Hinn´s name" is not the only answer that you will have ...

Yes, I have prayed and studied scripture in depth on this matter and I keep coming back to the same thing - Benny Hinn is a heretic, false prophet, and brings reproach upon the church.

Not being sure of what you are saying does not equal being wrong. You can be right and not be sure about it. Except that Jesus' teachings did not contradict scripture, Jesus did not beg for money, and Jesus did not make false prophecies.
