Reminds me of being at a meeting with Paula and Randy White (pre-divorce) at their Without Walls Church in 2004. I was there with my MIL for something related to her ministry and I blurted out that I would love to see the merchandisers of men apply what they preach. If they did believe in it they would be the first ones out at a busy street corner handing out wads of money as fast as they could. Knowing they would get back ten fold or a hundred fold of what they were passing out (blessing) other people with. You SHOULD have seen the looks on their faces, especially Paula's perky female handler/assistant.

Eli, Hophni and Phinehas would be proud of them. I'm proud of you.

I pray every day that God would give me the opportunity to meet any of these pulpit pimps for just 30 minutes. The closest I came was meeting a self-appointed "Apostle" under C Peter Wagner's heretical NAR movement. The Holy Spirit was so awesome guiding me in challenging and refuting his warped theology. When he called me a "Jezebel spirit", I was so happy! I knew that I did my job defending God's word!

Careful..... You keep questioning their motives and teachings and he will ask God for a "holy ghost machine gun" so that he can "blow your head off!".

I just posted this under Word of Faith, but it probably should have gone here: Someone asked me today what I thought of Benny Hinn and what about miracles and healings still taking place today. (The spell-check is underlining "healings" in red - not very with the lingo.) First of all, I don't know Benny Hinn that well, and I am in no position to judge him, although my tendency is to say that he is led by the Holy Spirit and speaks the truth, although he does so in a prophetic way and not as a teacher. Having said that, though, here are some thoughts about when we try to evaluate "the man", whether that is Benny Hinn or anyone else. The debate is usually set up as: A) A godly man who is doing great things in God's name or B) an ungodly man who is therefore a fake or spiritually allied with the enemy. My thoughts led me to several examples in the Scriptures where we read about someone who is neither one nor the other, which makes me think that the traditional debate sets up a false dichotomy. In other words, there can be ungodly people doing great things in God's name. Three examples: 1) Samson's strength was from God, and God used him as a judge over / deliverer for the Israelites. What was Samson like? First he spent time and money on prostitutes, then he found a wife among the Philistines instead of following God's command to find a wife from among his own people. He deserted that wife, and then acted in a spirit of vengeance (by burning some fields) instead of in love and respect. He then became subservient to the Philistines through his fleshly desire to appease Delilah, and finally destroyed a temple full of Philistines, not out of zeal for God's reputation in a land of false idols, not in order to redeem God's people from their oppression, but simply to get back at them for taking his eyes out. With all this, it is undeniable from Scripture that Samson's supernatural strength was from God and related to his commitment as a Nazarite. 2) The disciples came to Jesus complaining that some men were performing miracles in Jesus' name even though they were not following Christ. Jesus said to let them be. 3) In the Book of Acts, some cast out demons in the name of Jesus of Nazareth whom Paul served. The demons replied that they knew Jesus and knew Paul, but did not know these men. The demon-possessed were freed, and the demons came out through their words of faith in the name of Christ, however, the same men who cast out the demons were then taken over by the very demons they had cast out! Can someone be used by God to perform miracles? Of course! Jesus even talks about people doing miracles in his name, to whom Jesus will reply on the last day, "I never knew you. Depart from me!" I believe God is looking for men and women of faith that He can use to do His will on His earth, show His power, demonstrate His compassion, undo the work of the enemy, ... and that He will use those people to accomplish His miraculous works even if they are not godly people themselves. He may use people who are greedy, selfish, power-hungry, and vain - not because He wants them to be glorified, but because He wants His Name to be glorified and because His own people do not have the faith to accomplish the works that He wants to perform on the earth. I'm not the judge of whether Benny Hinn is godly, but if he is ungodly, that alone is no reason for me to conclude that he is a fake or a demon. It could very well be that he is an ungodly man who is doing great things in God's name, and that God is working through him to further His kingdom on this earth. Godliness is not a prerequisite for being a man of faith, neither is it an automatic result for someone who operates in faith. God's miracles and healings are a gracious response to our faith, not to our works or godliness.

I was just talking to my wife about this concept. She and I agree that their faith is not really in God, but in the spiritual laws that God has ordained – in a truth, without believing in Jesus who is The Truth. They are believing and acting on God’s word. They are selective in their faith, and not believing in God’s will for their life or in His commands about how we should live. They are not godly; they simply apply a principle that they believe in, established by God. God is not glorified in this persons, but He is glorified in the works that they do in His name. See Matthew 7:21-23.

Shrommer, You seem to begin with a premise that Hinn is doing miracles...highly questionable, I would say if not disproven then certainly lacking. It would be good if you would go back a few pages and watch the Canadian company's video. Here's the link http://www.cbc.ca/fifth/video_player.html?miracles

Shrommer You say that you do not know Benny Hinn that well. I suggest that you read through this thread. In it you will see HUNDREDS of examples using video, audio, and text, that prove that Benny Hinn is a LIAR, FRAUD, FALSE PROPHET, and a TOOL OF SATAN

Shrommer, Can you please show us how Benny Hinn's heretical teachings are indeed biblical? Can you please show us how Benny Hinn's documented false/failed prophecies are indeed true and not against the rule for Prophets given by God Himself in Scripture? Thank you because no one has been able to do that and because you bring him up I would like to hear your explanations about all of this.

Fun with Benny Go to Benny's website Near the upper right of the page, notice the large button that says: Benny Hinn Ministries leads the way in financial accountability Click it or just click my link above. When you get to the article notice Benny says: "Only 13 cents from each dollar goes to administrative costs. Considering the worldwide impact of our ministry—including media ministries, missions, crusades, conferences, prayer, resources, and educational outreaches—our administrative costs are exceptionally low compared to those of most organizations and corporations." What a careful steward. Now go to the top of the page and click on the "Your life" tab and see the top article Seven Blessings of the TitheBy Benny Hinn or just click the link here. In it you'll find these words from Brother Benny: If this ministry has been that storehouse for you, then it is the law of God that you should give your tithes and offerings to this ministry. (emphasis added) Benny fans, you wouldn't want to go against that! Then there's additional incentive: If you give to a dead ministry, there will be no result! A ...dead...ministry...? Notice how Benny doesn't have to explain any of this. Somehow the folks just "get it". If they didn't it would take more than 13 cents, wouldn't it?

He can tomorrow claim they only use 4 cents out of every dollar. Who is to actually know if that is true? Why not partner up under the accountability of the ECFA (Evangelical Council on Financial Accountability)? Every sound ministry out there seems to do that. Why not share your financial info with all of the deluge of media outlets, pastors, Christian ministries, etc that have been asking since the early 90's?

Well wintery if you would have been a good-boy. You would have noticed that he has deep black soil in which to put your seed so it reproduces itself. TBN also has that good old soil too in which to plant. He said there are two reasons why a person doesn't get rich. For one thing you are only to get out of debt then see that your money will grow. Then the other thing is when you give to another ministry you are giving to a building program. But when you give to him or TBN then you have mansions upon mansion, gold on top of gold. What the heck is he saying but that his building programs are better than the other guys programs. The man is a fruitcake big time and needs to some of his brains check it at the door. I can hear him now in front of Jesus saying you know all of those people I healed with your help. Let me in please. then Jesus might say to him what about all of that trash you did down there? But Lord I was trying to show them the good life by hoarding all of the money to fly all over the world because you know Lord everone has a T.V. and money.

rlj you are probably right with that assement. About old comb over hair boy. He has this thing when he is a lone in the studio. Where he says I see a woman with a broken right arm and medication is not helping the pain. But within the hour, Lord has reveled to me that will be healed. I thought it was instantaneous it would happen. Like when Christ was walking in a crowd and a women who was bleeding touched him. She was healed right when she touched his garment. Not within the hour or so.

November 7th - TBN's Fall 2000 Praise-A-Thon "STOP what you are doing and hear this! The Lord said to me last Saturday, I heard His voice in that church, and He said, "Tell them, time is running out", and His voice was coming in waves in into my heart. "Time is running" and then there was a second voice. Now hear this one. ... "Tell the people, I am passing by many" Hear this - "I am passing by many and if I pass by it would be as though I never knew them. I am passing by many and if I pass by it would be as though I never knew them." My friend we're all being tested right now on whether we are gonna stick with this or walk away from it. Tonight is decision night. It is not only decision night for America, for the next four years, this is decision night for eternity. What you do for God tonight, you do it with your soul, you do it with your life. This is not, my friend, just another Tel-A-Thon. This is - this may very well be the last one. Time is so short people, I'm tellin' ya, never have I sensed it - I am telling you I am speaking to you prophetically." - Benny Hinn
